Sadly, after only 6 short months i had to say goodbye to Walter last sunday. Out of the blue he was "ill"...vet said it looked like conjunctivitis but in the space of 2 days he went down hill dramatically. And despite mine and the vets efforts it was the decision that the kindest thing to do would be to put him to sleep.
I miss him terribly but i couldnt have let him suffer. I take comfort that i can see his resting place every day from my kitchen window and know he is not in pain anymore.
He was a little character and will always have a place in my heart.
