I have come to terms with the fact that I have sneezy and wheezy pigs. This is because they are allergic to hay dust and my one has very bad airways since he was in-breed. I usually bring Franklin, my in-bred pig, into the bathroom a couple of times at night and in the morning. I turn the shower on full heat and we just sit there for a while. Then I put him back in his cage and repeat. After the shower routine his wheezing stops for about 5 hours... that is how long I sleep so I can get him in the bathroom the second he starts again. Now I am going on vacation over the weekend and I need a more permanent way to do this. I will not be home and my aunt is to scared to pick them up unless it is an emergency. So I need something for her to be able to do without touching them. Any recommendations? It only has to be a quick fix until I get back and can be done every few hours if need be.

Can she put a bed or carrier into the cage and shoo him into it? Then she doesn't have to touch him.

You could try a bowl of steaming water near the cage but I've never found that very effect unless the pig happens to sit right near it.

Does warmth help him? My snuffly pig seemed worse on colder days so I often gave him a snugglesafe to snuggle up to.

I don’t know if warmth helps him but humidity does. I will tell her to use a carrier to get him. Thank you
