HELP!

I woke up this morn & thought it was just my other half snoring BUT one of my girls has started wheezing :(

They have been been coughing & sneezing..

Would this be because iv had windows open in the bedroom over night & they have got cold?

Will she be ok :( ?

I'm sure someone with experience will reply soon as my only advice would be if you are concerned head for the vets!
Hope your piggie is ok.

I would recommend getting them down to the vets to get them checked over, ASAP. Coughing, sneezing and wheezing that has come on so suddenly could be a respiratory infection; caught early it is more likely to remain an upper respiratory infection which is treated more easily, and not spread deeper down.

Any other symptoms - lethargy, loss of appetite, runny nose etc.?

nothing like that yet hun... just the wheezing sneezing & coughing :(

Will go & have her checked out then

Thank you for comments :D

The sudden and massive drop in temperatures this week can easily have triggered a URI. The sooner you have your girl seen the better your chances of a quick recovery. if you wait too long, things can get dicey.

whats the consiquences if it goes deeper down?

See the link I've provided - deeper down means pneumonia and that can be lethal. However, if you catch an upper respiratory infection quickly, the chances of a recovery are very good.

She was wheezing this morn but now its stopped ...

When i was inbed last night i kept hearing her too though...

Were taking them both to the vets on saturday getting them checked out

Good that she is otherwise ok, just make sure she is eating well and don't hesitate to have her checked out if it returns.

Allergy or a reaction to feeling a little chilly is possible, but the temperature fluctuations this week have been enough to trigger respiratory infections and colds (in humans and piggies!).

If it is an upper respiratory infection (based in the nose and throat) then it can often be cleared up without too much trouble e.g. just a course of antibiotics, but if it's untreated or not treated effectively enough and spreads to the lower respiratory tract - lungs and such lower respiratory anatomy - then the infection has a much heavier impact on them and complications like fluid in the lungs may be more common. Piggies can overcome lower respiratory infections (pneumonia) but it's a harder road to walk.
