You need to wait at least two days with a spot on before you can do a bath. Ideally, they should have a bath after mites treatment has finished to remove all the debris from their skins.

I would be careful about using that shampoo as it may contain pesticides that are harmful to guinea pigs. Ivermectin alone hould do the trick.

thank you, i just want to make sure i get them all out and make them both well, ive given them a brush this morning to remove any loose bits, i have noticed on my longer haired piggy that there are some tiny little things in his hair does this mean the spot on is not working or will they still have some to get rid of?

As you can see I'm very concerned and very worried that I'm doing the best for my boys

The tiny things in his hair could be lice - can you see if they are moving at all? Could also be specks of dirt which are mite-related...just to confuse you. :)

An antiparasitic shampoo like Lice n Easy (from www.gorgeousguineas.com) or Fleaordie is very beneficial in my experience for either lice or mite problems. (Obviously with the ivermectin for mites, bath still important there though.)
