When Haggis met Hamish

I bit the bullet & introduced them, Haggis was most pleased with himself, he brrr'd & followed Hamish all over; Hamish wasn't in the least bit interested, he managed to explore a teeny bit before climbing into the pigloo leaving Haggis alone to popcorn :))

I got Hamish back out, he then shoved himself under the radiator where Haggis started to groom him, Hamish legged it back into the igloo but was promptly followed by Haggis who seems quite smitten x)

Do i keep introducing them eventho' Hamish is quite happy by himself & not one bit interested in Haggis or get Haggis a baby who can popcorn with him - the question is... what would you do? :)

I think i'd try to persevere for a bit, they may get used to eachother eventually. Maybe a bath could help them bond?

I don't know :{ Hamish is a very placid piggy but enjoys his own company, atm (now they're inside) he's between Maddie & Huxley & doesn't interact with either of them, he really is happy with himself & I don't want to risk upsetting him or Haggis if Hamish became depressed i'd have to split them which would have an effect on Haggis, oh i don't know :(
 
You know your pigs best, but it seems Haggis could benefit from a friend. Great excuse to get another pig...:))

I think deep down your mind is made up and to be fair, it's not fair on Haggis who needs the company...
 
Awww, at least it didn't go badly! I would maybe persevere if they were not fighting, but as you say, it may end up aggravating Hamish - Oh, I don't know!

I am going to persevere with them; Hamish is an older boy & a tad set in his ways but we shall see what happens, if it goes wrong at least i'll 've tried & hopefully will be forgiven :))
 
That's fab news Niki! I would leave them too it, the problem being if you seperate again then you go through the whole process again. Sounds like Haggis is pleased to have a mate! Hamish may come around, he may just ignore him but its fab they aren't fighting!

I wish Twinkle would ignore Milo sometimes, he follows him everywhere!...lol

Today wasn't so good :( Whilst cleaning Hamish's cage i put them together on the floor, fine to start with until Haggis tried to get under the stool which Hamish was under, chattering started but i left them (& removed BOTH the stools) but this seemed to have upset them & they advanced to chattering with jumping at one another, at this point i separated them as the next step (from personal experience) would probably have been biting. Haggis chattered for a further 5 mins from the safety of his cage :))

This is the problem i've had with my piggies before, all are different out of their "comfort zone" which was the shed & is now "their room."
I shall try them again tonight in the comp room/landing if it's a repeat performance then that will be it, if however, they're fine but start again once they're back in "their room" then i'm not sure what i'm going to do - AARGH! :{
 
Bloomin' boys! Hopefully they will get over it and be ok tonight. Aww I was just beginning to think Haggis didn't know how to teeth chatter! :)) Fingers crossed for tonight, you lay don't the law if you have to me dear! rolleyes

Haggis can teeth chatter, popcorn, wheek, whistle, brrr & rumble strut oh & do karate - his flying leaps today were pretty impressive :)):)):))


Haven't tried them yet, have spent most of my night washing piggy bedding-joy! :(|)
