At what number of pigs together could you say you have a herd? We have a trio would it take one or two more? Can you have a small herd?

I would say four or more is a herd. Three is a trio but surely more means a herd?

I would say 4 or more too. In which case I have 2 herds, a trio and a pair.

I have two herds (so wish they all got on so could give all 9 a huge cage

This is a good question. To my way of thinking piggies come in pairs, trios, groups and herds. 4 or 5 piggies together is a group and 7 is definately a herd, which means 6 would be either a large group or a small herd.

I very much agree with Pound&Shilling. From 4-5 piggies you get group behaviour, from about 7 they become a full mob with all the social trimmings!

Having 9 boys together I call them a mob, they work as a tag team :)) I agree 4-5 piggies would be a herd :)

I have now got the Tribe, the Troop (my Elderlies), the Train (my cataract group), the Two Teddies, the Trio (With Bedo) and the Tramps (my bully boy Hywel and the Peru mafia)...

I had 13 all in together (sows) as a little girl. Definate herd there. Got a pair now.
