This morning I have introduced Jack, my boar aged around 4 who lost his companion a month ago, to 8 week old Ruffle, a small and energetic boy with a mad hairstyle. I was concerned how it might go, but I think it was a success

Who are you?!

Let's share some kale whilst we get used to each other. (This one gives you a good view of the hair on Ruffle's back which seems to grow vertically upwards!).

Jack was first to find the hay

But he agreed to share

The newly arranged cage before they messed it up - you will see I'm experimenting with fleece again.

And the boys in the new cage.

They are now both asleep together in the big blue plastic house - I think they are going to be friends - fingers crossed.

Oh my goodness! I love stories of piggies snuggling together! Mine would rather have their nails cut... It does look like a sucess, but what party wouldn't be with all that goodness? :)

Aww what lovely photo of the gorgeous fellas, in the first photo i thought there was two baby guinea pigs doh I really should put on my glasses! haha! He has fantastic hair btw! Hope their friendship continues to grow! :)

Am so pleased it went well, they make such a lovely pair.

Thanks everyone. We had a bit of teeth chattering and chasing yesterday afternoon but it didn't last and they slept together last night :) I think they were just sorting out who's in charge, and despite the size difference it seems that Ruffle thinks he's the boss! Jack is so laid back he seems happy to go with the flow for a quiet life.

This morning they were sharing breakfast happily. I am going to give them a bit of a run outside today if the weather holds.
