I treated my lawn with weed & feed 4 weeks ago in an attempt to kill off the moss that had grown during the winter months. I have mown it once since then. I now have a lawn with lovely juicy green grass that my piggies can't wait to get their teeth into and their tongues around! How long do I have to wait for it to be safe? Will I have to mow it a few more times? Any help gratefully appreciated. At the mo the family of 5 is on the patio with lots of hay to eat. But I can tell they want really the grass!

I think the instructions on the box I used last year said 6 weeks? I left it 2 weeks longer than it said just to be safe. Be careful only to leave them on it for very short times to begin with as the very lush grass will be even more likely to cause bloat. If you have family, friend, neighbour with untreated grass it would be a good idea to start giving them some now to prepare their tummys. This thread might help too. The box says 3-4 weeks so I'll wait a bit longer just to be safe. I'll also only put them on the grass for about 15 minutes first of all, slowly building it up to all day just so their tummies get used to grass again. I'll also put hay in the run in a hay bale so that there is always hay available.
