So I’ve had my hairless piggy for about five months he’s about a year and a half old I was wondering if I should bathe him he doesn’t look dry he doesn’t feel dry I just wasn’t sure if I had to bathe him he definitely is a little smellier than my piggies with fur lol so I was just wondering and if so if there was a good kind of shampoo I could use that won’t hurt his skin

I have skinny pigs (hairless piggies) and definitely don't bathe them. It would remove all the natural oils from their skin. I did have one skinny that used to get quite dusty from the hay and i would occasionally give him a wipe with a soft cloth soaked in warm water (at the temperature you bathe a baby in). I can't say that i have every noticed that any of my piggies are smelly.

Hope you are enjoying having a skinny pig, does he have a friend? I have a pair (Pongo and Val) and also another sow (Belle) who lives with two haired piggies. There are a few of us on the forum that have skinnies but I think that we are probably all in the UK, so you may have to wait a little while for us to respond to you.

I never bathed either of my skinnies, at most it was a quick wipe down with a baby wipe when Cam was having tummy troubles (and then wrapped up in a nice warm blanket for a bit because baby wipes are a little on the cool side for skinnies). Bathing them does more harm than good tbh.

I have a skinny pig ( for almost 1 year now) and I’ve never found him to be smelly
I’ve never bathed him
He lives with a furry guinea pig and he doesn’t smell either.
I clean one half of their cage one day and the other half the next day
