When should I get new cagemate

Today my snickers died and left buddy alone I was wondering when I should get a new cagemate for him. Right buddy doesn’t seem to care but he is hiding more than usual besides that he’s still eating and drinking. I know I want to get him a friend but I don’t know how soon to get him

So sorry for your loss.
When my Titus was bereaved it was about 2 - 3 months before I could get him companionship,

I wasn’t a forum member back then and couldn’t find a rescue close to me so I never heard about boar dating.
Thus meant neutering and getting girls.
This all worked out really well for me and the piggies were all very happy together.
