Well, I am a bit annoyed as my vet is unable to get me any Septrin :( He has told me to keep Connie on the Baytril for a further 2 weeks (as this is when the bottle will finish) and see what happens after that. I just hope that what ever it is clears up in that time. Anyway, I am just wondering if anyone here know's where I can get Septrin from just in case?

You need a vets prescription and you can get at a chemist, it is not available to buy over the counter.

Sorry I can't help, I have only ever given my piggies Baytril via the vet.

It's not even given that much for kids any longer as other anti bios have come along. When you hand over the prescription at the pharmacy you always have to wait a day or two.

When I needed some the vet gave me a prescription and I took it to the chemists, got some funny looks when the Pharmacist called out Trouble H....... as it was busy at the time:(|):(|):(|):(|):(|):(|)

Septrin is not liecensed for piggies the only antibiotic that is is Baytril. Not many vets will prescribe Septrin for a guinea pig. My best friend is a vet and as a last resort let me have Septrin for my Blossom after my own vet said no. Blossom had a uti on and off last winter Septrin did the trick for her in the end. She was living in the house after she got ill which helped her recover.

Sorry to hear you are having problems getting Septrin Claire - i would definitely get a script and try your local chemist.

After finding out about Septrin and discussing it's uses with my vet this time last year, they now keep it in stock and if they ever run out it's usually in the next day.:)

I hope you can track some down.
