Richard got Jaffa out today for a wonder on the grass with the girls(his our nurtured boar) and found he has got a sore that goes from the middle of his back to his rump, it is not weeping but is raw and their is no hair there,

well it has been last summer since i had any sort of probs and i have lent my books to a friend and to the life of me i cannot think of what could have caused it, it has come up over a day,

My hubby is still seeing to them i don't go out to see to them still but he said it was not there yesterday

the others do not have anything on them only him,

Any ideas

Harley had one and it was a cyst....them did you get my pm about your two other girlies?

to be honest Hun i am positive it is not a cyst it is to flat almost like a carpet burn on his back ^-^(naughty boy)

and as for the pm, i will go and have a look, i am terrible at the mo, mind is so not on line, sorry ;D

It could be a fungal infection. If you gently tug the hair and it comes out I believe he would need to be treated by a vet :)

aww yeah I hope you are getting better, but if you need help with the two girls I can take them for a while till you get back up and running?

Yeah I am not sure either, it might just be like glands, come up when they get sensitive, but he wouldnt have a gland on his back 98)

well i am taking the new kittens to the vet tomorrow so i will slip him in to the appointment as well O0

at least they will be able to give you a peace of mind...perhaps its the grass? :-\

I have checked his skin and it looks a bit flaky, but i would not ha thought it would cause this sort of sore

It might if your guinea can reach to scratch it or rub it on something if it is itchy

It does sound like fungal, awww see what the vet says. Neem oil is great for fungal :) How is your back now?
