I have recently adopted a guinea pig and had him for about 2-3 months . When I adopted him he is a singular guinea pig the shelter told us they attempted to integrate him to a new Heard but sadly was not successful . However they did tell us if we wanted we could try and bond him with another boy ourselves. I would love to get him a friend as I think he will be a little bit happier. I was just wondering if anyone could help me on were to go and how to bond him with another piggy ?

If all fails with the bonding, you can always put a divider in the middle of the cage. They can still see each other through the bars, but won't be able to fight. That's what I had to do when my 2 girls didn't bond

You could look for a rescue which does boar dating. Then he could pick his own friend. Otherwise as above. Personality compatibility is the important thing.

The other alternative is to have him neutered and get him a girlfriend (or two). Hope you find him a friend soon.

Thank you for this information. I was wondering if you knew if the rspca did boar dating . I have considered neutering him but I do fear him having to go under anaesthetic.

If you find a good vet he should be fine. There’s a list of approved ones on her somewhere if you do a search.

As for rspca boar dating, I don’t have a clue to be honest. Best thing is to contact them and ask. There’s a list of other rescues on here as well.
