Where Do I Socialize My Piggies?

Hi again! I was just wondering if anyone knew of a social group for guinea pigs in Ca? i know it sounds silly but i just would like my guineas to have some friends because no one that i know has other pigs. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

It's not a good idea to randomly socialize your pigs. Everytime they meet a new pig, they have to go through dominance and will likely to cause fights if you keep introducing them to random pigs.

If you don't plan to keep the pigs together, don't introduce them. Often times a pair can have a fall out when introduced new pig.

Unfortunately though this is a nice idea it would be unlikely to work and you could risk fights or your pigs catching mites et.c from other pigs.

Unless it's a guinea pig pignic at the park where there are lots of space and the pigs are health checked before entering. Most of the times the pigs are fine in that setting since the park is a neutral area for everyone.

Not sure where you are in California, if you're in the Bay Area, we host pignic once a year during summer. Proceeds are donated to local guinea pigs rescue.
