I asked a similar question on The Guinea Pig Community Group Facebook page & this has given me a start to doing a directory of places where you can buy all you piggy supplies from without having to look at caged pets for sale, some in bad conditions.

So if you'd like to build a directory of places to buy whether is online, a nationwide store or just an independent story can you please add them to this thread. If you can add type of product eg food, bedding or toys etc., addresses, phone numbers, websites & email addresses where they're available this will save me a lot of work later.

I'll collate all this info & add a directory so everyone will have a better choice of where to buy from. This could later maybe be done like the vet locator & rescue locator.

Food from Amazon.
Hay from hayforpets
Cabins from zooplus
Tunnels and fibreplex from thehayexperts

What a great idea! I've got a place in Glasgow that does pellets, hay and some paraphernalia, it also sells other pet items as well. I'll get the details as soon as I can.

zooplus, hay for pets, petsupermarket depends who has what in stock. And, i use the Easyfundraising page for them so some charity will benefit!

Nuggets and hay (also massive horse sized bales of shavings before we switched to vetbed) all from SCATS country stores. Great value and I believe they have stores dotted all over the country.

Zooplus for their pellets and The Hay Experts for fancy hay. Bloke who lives downstairs for meadow hay (he works at a farm supply place in Norfolk).

Rabbit muesli, Burgess Guinea nuggets and snowflake from I&J pet supplies in Maryport and hay from West Cumberland Farmers in Cumbria (I use Cockermouth and Carlisle)

Zooplus for food, hay from hayforpets.co.uk or timothyhay.co.uk. Lidl for most of their veg and my small garden for the rest.

Dust free hay.co.uk and local Dore Moor garden centre for hay and Megazorb. The Hay experts for readigrass and dried food and timothy hay. Vet UK for syringes, critical care, dried food, treats. Local pet shop, Barking Mad pet supplies (no animals on sale) for bits and bobs such as bowls, fleeces, waterbottles.

The Range sell food, hay, sawdust and a few toys.
Wilkinsons - again hay, sawdust, toys and treats
Pet Hut (part of poundstretchers) - some food and bedding (one in Leicester was rubbish for guinea pigs but I haven't been back recently).

I will say mine anyway, not that it will be any use to anyone unless you decide to one day move to Australia:
- PetStock
- Best Friends
- 100% Pets.
Or hay from a stock-feed store/market or even a horse store!

Home bargains have got the pet hut.
I bought loads of toys and a parsley bell from there.
It was cheaper that my local pet shop.
They sell other pet stuff as well

Thanks to everybody who's added to this thread. Please keep them coming.

there are a couple of warehouse type shops not far from me which I discovered recently. They are individual shops but have deals that are part of a chain somehow? Not sure how it works. Think the company is calls best for pets? The shops are Pet Warehouse - preston and Alpha Pet Warehouse which is near preston crematorium.

I also do some shopping at wilkos, the range, homebargains & b&m.

I also forgot asda. I dont food shop there but I go specially for guinea nuggets and chubes

Briony, do yours chew the chubes or just sit and poo in them like mine do. I'm thinking of going to a builders merchants & getting some plastic waste pipe so I can just give clean them and flush them out as required.

Both I usually throw them after a week as they wee in them too so they get a little gross inside! They dont have them all the time maybe once a month as it'd break the bank lol.

The local carpet shop for cardboard tube.

In oxfordshire, yarnton garden centre for hay and also seeneys pet supplies for hay and pet beds/vet bed

This won't help you UKers, but some Aussie members might benefit. Until fairly recently every pet supply shop I encountered also sold pets. One of these at my local shopping centre was replaced by a new shop called PetBarn that sold no pets. I discovered there is a chain of them, they are owned by the RSPCA so all profits also go to the RSPCA. I now have 2 PetBarns near me & shop there all the time for all piggy & poochie needs.

How much do you pay for the cardboard tubes?
Hopefully nothing. We have recently been given one from an end of roll of Lino from a friend and I've yet to go in and ask the carpet place. I'm sure if they have rolls they have run out of carpet on, they would gladly give them away instead of having to pay to bin them. It was just a thought at this moment in time.

Thanks. Info from Australia or anywhere else in the world can be added. When I collate all the info I'll have a section listing suppliers in other countries.
