I'm running low on hay, and I was just wondering where you can buy good quality hay online. Local pet shop costs a fortune, and it doesn't look great, and I refuse to go to P@H to buy it.
Any help will be appreciated :))

I currently get mine from Dust Free Hay - bot ive also ordered from hay for pets - both are decent companies that offer large bale sizes of good quality hay....

A local farm shop/farmer perhaps? Or horse suppliers?
Probably not very helpful if you live in a city but you could probably drive out to somewhere?

Luckily our farmer neighbour used to let us in his barn to take what we wanted!

I used to use Hay for Pets but now I use Oxbow's Western Timothy Hay. But you can often buy great quality hay at a local farm supplies shop very cheaply in the bale but this isn't available to me so I buy Oxbow.

I buy mine from a local pet feed supplier by the bale. Massive bale for a fiver. I fill up four plastic tubs with it (42 litre ones I think) for mine and still have another tubs' worth to donate to the housemate's sister's rabbit!

Thanks :)) I'll have a look. We have loads of farm shops, but my Dad is allergic to horses. Anything that has been near horses is not allowed in our house. So thats not an option unfortunately.

What would you say the best hay from dustfreehay is?

asda, morrisons or tesco and sometimes wilkinsons. Per Kg these are cheaper than hay for pets or dust free hay and I cant store a bale so its the best choice for me :d

The absolute best quality hay is their american timothy hay - it's so lush and green (reminded me of the alfalfa king timothy hay) - only problem is it didn't last long with my 10 piggies. I order their large bales (i soft, 1 stalky) regularly and it lasts my lot around 4weeks - so it must be good stuff :)

I buy Meadow Hay from Hay for Pets. I've ran out a little while ago and had to buy P@H as it was an emergency.
My guineas didn't seem as excited about the P@H hay and went nuts when the Hay for Pets stuff arrived.

Do you have a TFM near you? (think they're only in shropshire)
I get willowpad meadow hay - smells sweet, it's green and the pigs love it! i think 2kg cost me about £3

TFM? I don't think so. I'm just outside of Cannock so to go to Shropshire it'll be about an hours drive. I'll keep looking.

I've just checked, all but 2 stores appear to be in bridgnorth and one is in newport and the other is near shipley.

It's not too cheap online:

I would say it is worth the money though, every bag i've bought smells so sweet and i've never had any yellow hay.

ETA:
Just found this site and it's not much more than i pay

I come from India, no hay in shops, so buying from ebay or amazon. Only one timothy hay is available (Hagen Living World Timothy Hay, 20-Ounce ) and it really cost me fortune(approx 15USD a Bag of 20 oz). But any thing to love piggies and their best health :)
