I am due to get some hay for the boys as their cheap bedding hay is nearly all gone, I'm trying to hold out until we move into our house so i can store it in the garage. I was wondering those of you who live in South wales are there any good farms that have some nice hay bales this time of year?

Thank you. :)

I am probably no help here but do you have a The Range store near you? I buy my hay from there. They sell extra large bags of hay for £3.99 and my girls love it. One bag lasts me a week but that is only because I have 4 pigs in a 6ft hutch and I am using more hay as it is the winter :)

Yes we do have the range nearby, i never thought to buy from there! Thanks Claire. I did see some hay in Wilkinson's and thought i may try that. I only paid £4 for my last bale of hay and its lasted me AGES, as i only have the 2 boys and i use it in the hayloft. But ive heard that its been hard getting decent farm hay here so looking for a cheap alternative as the boys only wee on it, as they have the oxbow as there staple. :)

I meant i seen some in wilkinsons not tried it yet. :)) But think i will have to get some soon as i wont get to the range tomo, because of the snow here and then next weekend we are off to London for the day on sat and the bedding hay is quite low...

I managed to get to The Range today and got a bale of the meadow hay £3.99 i was lucky as there was only 2 packs left! It smells very sweet and fresh, the hay isnt dull or brown looking and i can see some green bits. :) I was abit worried that if we do get the snow that is forecast they wouldnt have any bedding hay, so I'm glad we went out today. Wonder how long it will last me? I should think a few changes of the hayloft as its quite a big bag.

No problem i know your really busy! What a nightmare not being able to get any as you have so many pigs that need hay. Glad that you got some now!

I'm glad that i got the one pack from the range, should last me a few weeks. :)

Ive resorted to buying hay in bags now as I once bought some home from the horses for the wiggles and they all got really bad mites from it. I'm a bit scared to use farm bales now.

I always use a local farm shop for my bales of hay. Its always lovely and green at £4 a bale its just brillaint my lot have never had mites or any other nastie from it.

Thanks all for the links etc, i shall be opening the bag i got from the range next week as i have enough of the farm bale for one more change. :) Shall let you know what the pigs think. :))

I have ordered some from http://www.hayforpets.co.uk/ will let you know what its like but looks good just set up and great communication delivery delayed a bit due to snow. Can't be helped but phoned us to let us know!
