We got 2 of our guinea pigs (sows) we've had a year from this place called 'twy cross zoo' which is a zoo PLUS a pet place
We got the boar(neuted) thats with the sows from this lady down kent, her guinea pig had just 1 baby and we got him :smitten:
And blossom and treacle we got them off a lady, so we could rescue them and care for them and now blossoms had her babies we're waiting for treacle to pop too!

how many pigs do you have?
we got 1 of our pigs at a grage sale we only had her for 6 months :'(
our 2 other pigs we got from AFP pets.

Got 8 pigs, but 3 of them are babies that are 1and a half weeks old :simitten:

A garage sale! Omg! How did you find her at a garage sale!?!? I thought that is kinda illegal!?
Awwwh R.I.P to her too! :-*
What conditions was she in before you got her?

I take it AFP pets is like a pet shop?

At least she knew love in the end though :) r.i.p little girlie

I got Simba from Wilsons Pets in November 2006, then I got Nala & Kiara in May 2007 from Wilsons Pets :D

We got Daisy and Violet from the pet shop, violet was pregnant and had Batty,Bessie, Felicity
and Stanley. Sidney came from a rescue because Stanley was the only boar and was too young to be neutered.

some were brought from a pet shop others were rescued and others were born here either way they have forever homes here with me

my 1st ever piggies came from a breeder, now I have piggies from pet shops, free ads, breeders, unwanted pets from people and some that were left on my door step.

i got star daisy and toffee from P@H that, all were supposed to be girls, after a few days I had my suspisions star was a male, by his behavior and cheekiness, i couldn't tell at first but it was soon clear he was. He was seperated and when he was 16 weeks he was neutered, I lost Daisy at 6 months after surgery to drain an abcess she got a uri, i had to hand feed her, and she was on baytril for weeks, but it didn't work, she had what I think was a heart attack infront of me, very distressing to see, Poor Star and Toffee were watching .She was sooooo beautiful and I miss her.
After that I decided never to go down the pet shop route again, I rehomed another sow from the blue cross (Who was Betty) Called her maisy because it sounded like Daisy,(dont know how old she is). She didn't hit it off with toffee, toffee bullied her, and I finally seperated them several weeks ago, I then rehomed Charlie (was Patch)from the Rspca, I picked him up Sat after a long wait for them to neuter him for me, , he is 17 weeks old and settling in well.

I got Jessie form a pet shop in March my first piggie for my birthday pressie and i got Petal from a different pet shop as a friend for Jessie :smitten:

My guineas have been from pet shops, some have been because I couldn't resist them, others have been gifts and others have been the ones that have been overlooked. :)

Tilly is from my cousin they have 15 piggies and 1 had babies by accident I took Tilly and someone else had the two males. Amber and Trixie were from a breeder ( I now know this is not a very good idea now) I needed some piggies for Tilly to keep her company and she had 2 left so I got those. Ronald and Donald are from a lady who rescued them but couldnt keep them and the latest addition is Digby from the rspca. ;)

I currently have 12 piggers and have been keeping them 8 years.

They've come from a local family owned petshop (don't touch P@H), breeding, rehoming centres and a got 3 already pregnant females from a farm more recently.

Awwwh little babies guinea piggies! Have you got any baby pigtures?

So did you inbreed the litters or breed them with a different guinea pig?

Oh no, no inbreeding took place! I got my first females pregnant when a family friend asked me to look after her male Baz and then I got my own Himmie Boar named Barney and a Peruvian called Snoopy. They have since passed though and I no longer have any stud boars. I'm not into breeding for the sake of things anymore, but the females I collected from this farm were already pregnant. I thought they'd be better having their babies with me as I have past experience in overseeing the delivery and also hand rearing, should the worst happen.

I haven't got any baby pigtures at the moment, but when the babies are born (hopefully Friday I'm thinking) I will be sure to take some snaps.

Didn't any babies piggies turn out deformed or anything? I heard this can happen with inbreeding, like extra toes, or less toes, born blind, one ear etc etc?

I had a Rex called Snoopy heehee He passed away when I was 9 I think :s (I think can't quite remember)

Awwwh yay! More baby pigtures!

We got a preggy piggie that gave birth 2wheeks ago on wednesday, we have another preggy piggie who has about 3 - 4wheeks to go yet! :P

No, no babies were ever deformed. I wouldn't allow inbreeding between them, I did used to be very careful about that. I'm not sure what will happen with the babies that will be born from the 3 I got from the farm. They were literally in a tiny pen about 30 of them and well some of them were bound to be related. I'm just hoping for the best!

I'd love a rex, never had one but I've seen a friends and they do have amazing coats I love the texture.

Bet your babies are SO cute and wishing your sow who is let to litter lots of luck. Sure she'll be a great mummy pig!

You'll see the baby piggies with their gorgeous mummy :p

Awwwh, the mummy in waiting was so tiny when we got her, I think she is about 4 - 4 and a half months old, we got her pregnant about 6weeks ago, she's grown LOTS and I think she's have 2babies :) 1 of them kicks loads on the side of her belly, you can just look at her belly and see the baby kicking her belly because her skin ripples :p :smitten: can't wait for the babies!
