We are a little concerned over Midnight at the moment. Since we allowed them freedom to the whole living room they have decided to prove how many small spaces we have.

However, Midnight's favourite place seems to be under the MIL's chair by the side of the radiator. Indeed she has managed to make a sort of nest under the actual radiator.

I am concerned that she may get too warm. Up to now I have been successful in retrieving said piggy and blocking egress into area.

She does seem to like it warm but I dont want to have to end up syringing water, she does drink and gets plenty of veg etc with water content like cucumber. We dont know if its related but she does seem to have problems smelling food. When we had her she seemed to have an URI which she passed onto the herd. Despite checkups she does have the occasional runny nose with no related rattling and the other girls are fine.

But she does seem to have a problem smelling, when we place parsley in the cage Star and twinkle smell it from afar but we have to place it right under Midnights nose.

Does anyone else have a piggy that likes the warmth and has problems withy their sense of smell.

I must admit that although my house is puppy proof as I breed whippets, I wouldn't trust a g/pig loose! When I had a hamster as a kid, it got under the floor boards and started one long catastrophe as my dad had them all up and when he nailed them down again he hit 2 central heating pipes! I can't remember how long I was grounded for!:0

My boys love to hide under a blanket, they love to play under and when one of them is outside he always tries to find the other one :<> i love to watch them play ^^

We don't give them too much freedom for free time- I'm worried they would get in behind the tv and chew wires and things like that. We have a hallway that I block off with baby gates for them. There are not too many places to hide in there, though one does like a little corner near the steps and the other one likes to lay in the doorway between the hall and the bathroom. I used to have an african pygmy hedgehog who was free-roaming and she used to get into crazy places- the worst was when she got into the back of the fridge- it was very hard to get her out!

Rosie is pretty calm and doesn't tend to hide anywhere in floor time. I'm sure Ruby would find some great hideys. She had her first floor time today and had to blockade half the room off for her, as she likes to try and make her escape to freedom. Her favourite place to hide when cuddling is under my cardigan behind my back- definitely more than one pair of hands is needed rolleyes

We leave the cage open and Buddy and Bingo climb out and have free run of the living room. Buddy does zoomies round and round his cage and likes to sit in the magazine pile. He tried tearing up newspaper and nesting there but we soon put a stop to that!

Bingo likes to try to cuddle up to my little brother's lego houses. He more often than not ends up breaking them!

Nibbles and Nutty are too lazy to run around and prefer to just have cuddles, sometimes following us room to room. They are just happy to be where ever we are!
