where is your cage?

Hi i have my piggies in the kitchen diner and we are happy with this but a couple of people have said this is not a good idea, not sure why though rolleyes So where do you all keep yours?

My other half has offered to build indoor cages under the kitchen worktop on the other side of the room, it is currently just wasted space, so i am quite happy but wanted to make sure it not going to be harmful to the piggies being in the kitchen x

Our piggies are housed in our lounge where they get constant interaction and attention
I don't see why keeping them in your kitchen/diner is an issue unless people worry about cooking etc. ?
I'd have thought if it's warm but also ventilated, would be ok

Mine were in the lounge but now the bedroom.

I did have my late guinea in the kitchen, the washer and everything didnt phase her I think they love it as it is a busy place and sociable. I do remember though in summer it getting a bit warm some days when the oven was on but that's not a great many days normally is it.

I think they will like it.

Mine are in my lounge. Because I use fleece I got and made liners to go with my decoration. It fits perfectly there and they get so much attention there. Everyone is different so you do what you want as long as it''s safe. My niece has 2 boars in a tiny cage in her bedroom, which I don't agree with. I'm thinking of buying her a c&c cage but don't know if her mom will let me. I hate to see piggies in tiny cages. I gave her 2 fleeces because she never cleans them out and her mom is not helping. My neice wont part with them though even though I offered to adopt them. Sorry to waffle on lol!
