Where to buy sample foods

Have just spent some time reading with interest the food reviews on here. Have been feeding our piggies Gertie, beacuse it was the most expensive one our regional pet shop sells so thought it would be best! (Others are just bagged up "guinea pig food.") They DO have a tendency to leave the cylindrical pellets in it tho (think this is the calcium? Is that right?) so would like to try them on either the Cavy Cuisine, Supa Excel or the Science Selective as those two seem to get the best reviews here. Does anyone know a site where I can buy a sample pack to try as don't want to buy a huge sack for them to not eat it! Many thanks.

I absolutely love Cavy Cuisine for my pigs but my local supplier is now only stocking small bags and it's ridiculously expensive.

I don't mind sending you some Supa Excel as I have about 20kg of the stuff sitting around until it's eaten if you want?

Would you mind sharing your opinion on which of these three are best? Firstly in terms of nutrition / health for the guineas and secondly I guess in terms of overall good value / best buy. Many thanks indeed.

Also THANK YOU for your offer to send some Supa Excel - that is really so kind. How would i refund your postage and how much do you think a small amount would cost to send?

If I could afford it I would absolutely go for the CC. It's the most balanced and is timothy based rather than alfalfa based which is better for them. My pigs didn't take to science selective but enjoy excel. CC is absolutely extortionate because it's not produced in the UK (imported from the states). Excel is good value, more so when you buy it in bulk.

Many thanks for the extra info. If the CC is imported from the States then I'll rule that one out I think. Seems a bit OTT to buy piggie food from the US! (See my comments in other thread about UK hay lol!) I'll get a sample pack of the science selective and have found someone locally who is happy to give me a small portion of the Excel - so thanks for your offer but think I am sorted. Or rather the piggies are.
