I would like to buy some syringes just incase i ever need them for my piggys, but I'm a little unsure on where to get them from anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

You can get them from your vets.

Or from here. Make sure that you get different sizes - 1ml for medication and 10ml for nursing/drinking.

I always get mine from Thistle Cavies store - proceeds from the store go to help rescue piggies there which is always a bonus!

my daughter has feeding problems and has a tube in her tummy for feeding we use syringes and have them delivered by the bulk for free we have 5ml and 60ml which i use on the guineas also have 1 mls in off the vets..

Thanks for the information, i think i will look on thistle cavies meaning the money goes to them or ask my vets. What do i say? 'Please can i have 10ml and 1ml syringes for my piggys?' I know it sounds silly but i hate not being prepared on what to say or i will just babble.

I always get my syringes from my vet, I just go in and ask for the size I want and they are more than happy to give me some.

I know what you mean J&G, I feel the same. When I have to make a phone call I run over what I need to say at least twice in my head before I can pick up the phone!

I just looked on thistle cavies but could only find 1ml and 2ml no 10ml, off to the vets it is then.

Hello

I buy mine from one of the local horse/agricultural supply stores, e.g. Countrywide farmers or Ross feeds. They are only about 10p each. They usual have them behind the counter rather than on the shelves. They are handy things to have!

Cheers
Alex

I'm not sure if i have a any of those near me but its worth a look, thanks.

Ooh just noticed you are in South Wales; whereabout, ish? There is a Countrywide in Chepstow and Ross Feed is Monmouth, I also know a few places in Carmarthen and Pembrokeshire from when I lived there...

In that case maybe they can stop at Carmarthen and Pumsaint farmers in Carmarthen next tim ethey are there? It is on the same road as the drive through McDonalds, just off one of the roundabouts they will be going over anyway, it's near the Wyevale garden centre...

Thanks for that well tell them to have a look for me.
Did you mean cross hands the McDonald's by there?

Nope it's definitely Carmarthen. You know if you keep going from Crosshands, you get to a first roundabout in Carmarthen, well take the first exit (which goes towards Morrisons) and then turn right almost straightaway, just before a McDonalds on the righthand side, and it's at the bottom of that road/driveway. It's about a minute or less from the roundabout (so hopefully no **** for them to stop at :-) )

If you are desperate I could see if I have a spare one or two and post to you, see what they say about that place first.

Edit: the four asterisks above are blanking out the first four letters of the word "problem", it wasnt anything rude honest! Why is "p r o b" censored I wonder?!

I know which one you mean! I forgot about that one. No worries about the censored. haha

I'm not desperate for them just wanted to have them in my piggys box just in case i ever need them, but thanks for offering to send me some. :))

If my parents dont go down to Pembroke soon i will go to the vets, just so it gives me piece of mind so i know i have some. (Think i have a spot of OCD)

I know what you mean, it's nice to have peace of mind of knowing you are prepared for all eventualities :-)
