Hello

I am new here (was inspired to sign up so I could enter the Olym-pigs competition but have been browsing for a while now) and have had two lovely baby girl piggies for about 3 months after my previous pair passed away last year. I am in the process of making a 4x2 c&c cage for them though it is taking a while to get all the bits together! But the set of grids I bought doesn't actually have enough of the connectors to make a 4x2 - I'm short by only two which is annoying... Found somewhere online that sells them but with postage and minimum order charge it was going to end up costing nearly £20 which is ridiculous! I know I could use cable ties and I will if I can't get any more connectors but does anyone here know of anywhere I could get some?

Thanks!

I have some i could send you, only trouble is, they are all at my caravan and i am not now there until NEXT weekend..... but could post them Mon 13th?

xx

Oh brilliant if that's OK I'd be really grateful... It's a nightmare trying to get stuff in the UK! There's no rush, as I'm nowhere near getting the cage done yet (need liners and some sort of table to put it on, only have the grids and coroplast so far). I'm happy to pay whatever for them, as it will cost you to post them, how do you want to sort it?

Dont worry about it, i dont have a paypal account or anything, if you wish to you could make a donation to a rescue. Could i have your email address? Then i will email you for your address, as you dont have enough posts to send private messages.

xx

Thanks so much, will definitely look at making a donation to a local rescue to say thanks!

I didn't realise I couldn't PM yet, that's annoying... Don't really want to include my email address in a message as I get so much spam already. I tried adding you as a contact and then allowing contacts to see my contact details but I'm not sure if I've done it right?

No i dont blame you re the email address, if you stick around and keep posting on anything and everything then hopefully by the time i have them to post, you will be able to PM.... I think you need to make around 50 posts or something to be able to PM. xx

You have to have 50 posts to PM, but I'm sure you could ask a moderator to PM Toffeewoffee your email address as you can send PM's to mods.

Argh I was hoping someone knew cos I asked this the other day & got no answer - I need to make a top for mine but There aren't enough connections, but stingy with them aren't they!

I'm sure I've seen extra connectors on ebay. Can't do a link though cos I'm on my mobile. Will try and get on my computer later and see if I can do a link but hopefully you'll have found some by then :))

Step 1 - Go to your User CP
Step 2 - Go to the Private Messages tab on the left hand side and click ' Send New Message '
Step 3 - Type into the Recipient Username(s), furryfriends (Excellent Adventure Sanctuary)
Note - When you start typing furryfriends into the box, a list of usernames will appear below. You should be able to find hers.
Step 4 - Now just add your message and ask what you wanted to :)

If you are struggling you could ask a forum buddy or start a new thread. Hope I helped. I'm not sure if this is the easiest way to be able to PM a admin, but this was how I did it when I had troubles logging onto my account.
Sorry for the late reply.

Nope I can't seem to PM anyone... so will just have to do lots of posting before next weekend!

Hi Pigtastic, just wondered if you were still wanting some spare connectors? Unfortunately, our trip to the caravan (where my spare connectors are) has been cancelled this weekend, i am now not there until the weekend of the 18th, so the earliest i can post is Mon 20th?

I am still happy to send some if the dates are ok with you?

x

Hello, yes please I would still like them, the dates are fine with me, it will give me more time to get to 50 posts since I'm being a bit slow!

Oh I know I'm useless... at least this will count as another post! Will try to do a bit more today!

I'm only short of 2 connectors actually, but 3 or 4 would be handy as spares if you have them?

Thanks!

Yes, certianly no problem lovey, i will bring them home with me sunday and hopefully post them to you Monday should you have enough posts :)) x

No worries, how is the C & C coming along? Have you got your correx and cage liners yet? xx

Yep I have got the correx and grids all made up, and even a table to put it on, just waiting for the liners to get sorted and finishing off a lid as we've got two rather untrustworthy cats in the house!

How are you making the lid, this is one thing putting me off getting a cat or dog..... xx

Well, it's a bit complicated... my OH is doing most of the technical stuff! But basically, the set came with 20 grids and I'm making a 2x4 cage which leaves 8 grids left over, exactly enough for a lid. The set I got also came with some kind of round hinge-y bits (hard to explain) which we've used along with cable ties to attach the grids to each other and to the back of the cage, so you can fold it in half and only open the front half of the lid, or fold it back again to open the whole thing. It did need an extra support across the middle though, just a metal rod cable-tied to the grids, and some extra little supports at the corners as well. I wouldn't have had a chance of doing it by myself! Will take a pic when it's done if you're interested since my description is rubbish!

Also, my cats were very interested when the piggies were very new and little, but are much less bothered now, so it does wear off a bit (not with mice though - they still want to eat my pet mice even after nearly a year!).

Your description is good actually, but we would still love to see pictures, i think i might mention this lid idea to the OH..... x

OK, will take a pic and post today if I can, it's mostly finished, only the corner supports to do really, then will take a pic when it's properly finished as well

Ooh thanks for the lid tip - I did wonder that those other black round things were for! mallethead

I plan to make a lid as altho my dog doens't live with me, she visits alot & likes to eat pig poop and pellets so there's no way she won't hop in!

Get a lid & get a doggie. Problem solved hahadrool
