I used to have piggies when I was a teenager, and those ones always lived outside.

I currently live in a 2 bed flat at the moment and am getting 2 baby piggies on Saturday :smitten:

I've got the Rabbit 140 cage from Zooplus, and it is so big, I was wondering where exactly to position it! I want the cage to be in my living room, so that I can spend time watching my piggies and interacting with them. I'm just worried about having the TV on or music on etc... How well do piggies get on in living rooms? How far away from a TV or stereo speakers should I place the cage? Obviously I'm guessing they can't be too near, as that just wouldn't be good for them?

Hi there and welcome to the forum from us in OZ :)

Congratulations on soon to becoming a piggie mummy :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

They love music etc... once they get used to you you'll find yourself leaving tv and the radio on for them :smitten: :smitten:
Just not too close to electrical appliances erm they're good at nibbling on things and not in a draught O0 O0

Oh i hope you can post some piccies on here for everyone to look see :smitten: :smitten:

I agree with Glynis, I keep all mine in the living room and as long as they are not in a draught they adapt quickly

Really? Aw that is so cool :)

Ooh yes I shall definitely be posting some piggie pics! ;) I've been drooling over all the ones I've seen on this board; they're all so adorable! :smitten:

Oh yes the piccies are gorgeous :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Both my girlies have lived in the lounge since we got them a year ago, it took them a little while to get used to us noisy people but now they dont even flinch when the tv's on. except if justin timberlake comes on the music channels! for some reason wen makes her scared noise at him! ;D

Probably cause the first few bars are quite loud to start off with :D :D :D

I have mine in my bedroom cos this is where I spend my most time - there is nearly always quite loud music playing or the TV on and it doesn't seem to bother them at all :)

Thanks for all the replies :)

Our little piggies should be fine in our living room then. The only other thing I was concerned about is the warmth - we have one fixed heater in our living room, but I'm going to place the cage at the opposite end of the living room to it. We keep the heater on the lowest setting, but the living room does tend to get quite warm... How are piggies with heat?

Only 1 day to go! :smitten:

Fantastic news, welcome to the forum.

My gang Sweep, Sparky and Tommy live in my hallway but I live in a shared block of flats so there are bo draughts but my poorly boy, Sweep is parked up in the lounge.

If you are comfortable with the temperature, they should be too. If you get too warm, chances are they will be too warm too. They dont do well with sudden temperature changes :)
I have 7 piggies in my lounge and with the noise from TV, radio and the kids, they seem fine with it :D
Welcome to the forum btw O0

Mine are in the kitchen while the living room is being decorated and I really miss having them at the centre of my world! I spend more time in the kitchen now than the living room...

mine are in the bedroom, but when I'm in living room they can come in with me and have cuddles, they have their floor time in the spare room which used to have our pool table in, but now its an empty room :)

my girls have the run of the lounge when i'm in there, they used to get run time on the hall carpet but started wandering into the lounge when they realised the wooden floor wasnt quite as scary as they first thought! Now al pig loves running as fast as she can around the table legs! :D
