Which animals (except rabbits) carry a guinea pig infecting virus? I've already heard about howe rabbits can carry a guinea pig infecting virus naturally, without being sick, but which other animals do? Dogs, cats or rats? Do those pets carry any disease (naturally, not from being sick, but more like a bacteria) that can spread to my guinea pigs unless I wash my hands before handling the guinea pigs?

I'm not sure about viruses, illnesses and the like but I'm finding out the hard way how quickly ringworm and other fungal nastiness can spread between species...! I guess that could go for things like mites as well. Do you have other pets?

I have rats in my room, and rats always have mycoplasma.
