So I'm pricing up the cost of getting guinea pigs and want ti get a good quality hay. There are no local farms near me so this isn't an option. I live near a pets at home and a jollyes pet store but i can always order online if there are any good option from elsewhere.

I give mine a variety of hays from PAH as well as my local pet shop. When I have time there’s also a Pets Corner in the garden centre.
They get Excel and Timothy hays.
When pricing up the cost of guinea pigs don’t forget about vet costs.
That’s the one that took me most by surprise when I started keeping piggies again.
They are worth every penny but not the ‘cheap small animals’ some people seem to think.
Do keep us posted and let’s see pics if you do get piggies.

Do you have a Just for Pets store near you? I'm sure theres one in Manchester somewhere..anyway, I get my hay from my local one, it's a pretty big bag for about £5 and really nice quality from a farm in the next county over.

The range sell meadow fresh hay which is generally pretty good quality and value. Only once I got one that smelled a bit rank, I took it back and they exchanged it. When I buy it now I always open and sniff it after paying but before leaving the shop to make sure it doesn't need to be exchanged before I drive home with it.

I buy hay from hay and straw and timothy hay.co.uk Both sell in bulk and both sell fantastic quality hay.

Hi, I use meadow hay (store/farm bought) as bedding and nature's own Timothy rich as feeding hay. I get it from the range as they do offers on them. You can get it online. If I am ordering from zooplus I get this hay Natural Hay with Marigolds | Free P&P on orders £29+ at zooplus!
As my boys like this, too. It's not vac pack so storing it is bit tricky, but price and quality wise it's good buy. I usually buy 6packs. One pack lasts my boys about two days.

I buy Timothy Hay for Freddie. Usually Excel, via Amazon, because it's delivered (I'm mostly house-bound). But my husband also brings home "5-a-day Hay" from local shop sometimes.

I have tried various hays but mine seem to prefer Readigrass timothy, and it has a very pleasant smell.
