Last time i gave my piggies a bath i did it very wrong and they got ill.(one of them died)
I'm not sure if Spice and Honey have a parasite problem or fungal. so which gg product should i use. Are there any products you don't have to wash off? And do they work?By the way Spice is 4 and Honey is 13 weeks.

Oh so sorry to hear that. May I ask what you did wrong? I am going to give Lennie his first bath and really nervous about it. Can't advise about the products myself as not bathed a piggie before but I am sure someone will come along to help :(

Sorry to hear that :'(It must have been awful. I know to use the right shampoo just scared he will stress out.

Has Spice had a bath before? If she hasn't I wouldn't suggest you bath her, for a young guinea it is stressful but for a guinea of her age it would be to much to put her through. Personally, I think Honey is to young to be bathed as well. I wait until my guineas are around six months of age. If you go on to the Gorgeous Guineas website, go to the shampoo and conditioner section, you will be able to pick the shampoo and/or conditioner you think will be suitable. Gorgeous guineas have two shampoos you may be interested in and they are Lice ‘n’ Easy – effectively removes Lice which are notoriously difficult to shift and Manuka & Neem – for use in conjunction with MicroNeem where guineas have a fungal and / or parasitic skin problem. http://www.gorgeousguineas.com/index.html

Hope this helps. :)

GG shampoos are beautiful - so many to choose from, and Chrissie would always help. :)

Everyone baths piggies differently I think, I don't put mine in water but have a shower tap that I hold them under. I find this useful for the pigs that don't like being bathed as they feel more secure. The guineas that are more used to the process stand on tweo feet in the sink while I support their shoulders (so that they are 'stood up'). I find this makes for better and easier rinsing.

Yes, I 'shower' mine too - they seem to prefer that to being in inches of water. It's amazing how 'tall' they can become to get themselves out of the water! ;D

I sometimes shower my short haired guineas but my Coronet, who is no longer with me, always had a bath. :)

I will only bath mine on warms days and as today is over cast and dull Marley will have to wait she is getting a good grooming in the mean time they dry off in a portable run in the conservatory, mine have baths in the kitchen sink where i have 2 sinks one for shampooing and one for rinsing I never ever fill them above the pigs back they can happily walk about and not go under the mixer tap is used to rinse the bulk of the soap off with my hand kept under the tap in case of temp fluctuations, I wet them first apply GG along thier backs massage in using the foam on thier cheeks and around ears Chrissie also sends you an info leaflet with any products you buy so you will always know what to do, then they are rinsed off and shampood again if necessary go by Chrissies instructions some times melts need to be applied first before shampooing again instructions will be sent, melts are for specific skin probs Marley has dry flaking skin for instance ,
once rinsed then towel them dry keeping them safe so they dont jump out of your arms a wet piggy is slippery I then towel dry them and put them in the conservatory or I have a dog hairdryer that you dont need to hold it has a stand , comb them through and then I do my checks on them ie nails check for lumps and any marks on their skin etc and wallah a sweet smelling fresh piggy of cours ehtey then get a treat and I dry myself off :D

;D I know it looks a lot but it's quite straight forward really. The dog hairdryer is a brilliant idea. O0
