It's me posting about hay again! In my last post I asked you all what type of hay I could use as a treat hay. I went with oat hay in the end and they absolutely love it! Actually they're munching on it right now. I put it in a hay rack during floor time only because I don't want them eating it all of the time. I was thinking I'd like to try another treat hay but one that I can put a handful in once a week as a mix with there mountain of meadow hay that they burrow in so it would have to be really soft. The oat hay is very tough and far to stalky to do this with. Frodo and Dexter said thank you very much for any recommendations and they look forward to trying something a bit different

3rd cut Timothy hay is very soft. I have an orchard medley that is soft now too. I get it from small pet select. I just ordered bluegrass hay from KMS Hayloft. Should be here Wednesday. I cannot wait! It's supposed to be great!

B n m do a meadow hay. Softest hay i have ever had. Its dirt cheap too and seems good quality

We just bought some pillow wad meadow hay from Amazon and its lovely and soft and smells very fresh, all the piggies disappeared into it as soon as we filled the hay tray this morning! And it was quite cheap compared to the timothy hay. We have burgess excel feeding hay which is finely chopped timothy hay with dandelions and marigold as an expensive hay treat.

Ive just had a delivery today of Natures Own Pets ,their normal hay & its scrummy ! very soft & quite fine and it smells of fresh meadows and loveliness, the girls have gone mad for it after the brown pet shop rubbish they've had recently.

I use meadow hay from a farm.orchard grass oxbow, dust free hay soft hay....on line.it is expensive but the best UK meadow hay.The
hayexperts do a sampler of different hay, which allows your cavies to find which hay that they like best.
