I have out door guinea pig cages and I was wondering which you guys think are better.
fleece or hay or any other

if you have outdoor piggies ,i find fleece gets damp in cold weather.hay is a good bedding as helps to keep piggies warm,i use a bedding under the hay aubiose which is hemp bedding.vetbed could be another option as keeps piggies warm, you will need an absorbent layer underneath eg towels or puppypads !it is really down to what you find best for your piggies and budget !I'm unable to copy and paste,in the housing and bedding guides, there is a post on various beddings !

My boys live outside and I use puppy pads, newspaper, wood shavings and hay. I know a lot of people don’t like to use wood shavings but I’ve not liked anything else I’ve tried or it’s been way too expensive for the amount that gets used.

How about newspaper with a thick layer of hay on top? Newspaper is a good insulator aswell as cardboard. Thats why the homeless use it.

Ok just realised, old thread.

I found newspaper got all sludgy and horrible. I now use a mixture of washable puppy pads (for the bottom of the hutch) and fleece and washable puppy pads for the top of the hutch on top of which I put lots of hay. Too much hay 1.webp
