Which meadow hay is good at the moment?

I think I found the perfect combo. Got to test the Natures own sweet green and their Devon meadow hay past week. And the sweet green isn't great for hay box diving as it seems to be short strands and will basically just be flattened by the piggies. They still enjoyed munching on it, tho. Just wasn't what I needed for the hay boxes. I will take it to work as I think some recovering piggies and bunnies might find it easier to eat since it's so soft and short.

BUT the Devon meadow hay is great for hay boxes. The smell is divine. I got cold and can hardly smell anything, but could smell this as soon as I opened it. All the piggies jumped in to test it, too. It actually stays fluffed up In the box, too. I have few piggies that enjoy being hay sharks and the soft sweet wasn't cutting it.

Does anyone know if this is the same, nature's own hay? I didn't see it on their website. Got it previously from Range and it was ok for a bedding hay.Screenshot_20251017-100419.webp

I've not seen that pack before. It's a shame the Sweet Green is so short this year, it's not normally like that. I guess the grass didn't grow so well with the hot summer, mine are still enjoying it though. I mix the sweet and normal together to cover all faddy tastes!

I’ve not seen that packaging either. Good to know about your experience of the Devon Hay though, I might give it a try as I’m always on the look out for good hay ☺️

It was @piggieminder mentioning it that got me into ordering via their website. Only ever bought their product from shops.

It's so difficult with hay and weather. Think I'll just split the purchase to 4 Devon meadow and 1 sweet soft my next order.
Did you notice piggies getting porky or having upset bellies like they can from soft Timothy?

No mine haven't put on weight or had upset tummies.
I love being able to feed the Sweet Green now, in past years with different piggies no one would eat it. \it's so much easier to be able to buy all the main eating hay from one place. We've always had NO Meadow Hay but I was buying from Hay Experts and Hay Box as well.

My boys love a mix of the 2 nature's own. Getting the sweet green open wakes them both up immediately! If it wasn't for Mr piddle pants weeing all over his hay I would probably just buy the one type! Sir George generally just gets the sweet green hay though....
