My 2 guineas are currently in a single story hutch that is 135cm wide and 60cm deep. They also have a run which is seperate to the hutch. Must admit some mornings its such a rush to get to work and get kids to childminders the guineas are left in the hutch. I feel bad and want to get them a bigger, 2 story hutch.

Have looked at these 2.

I like the look of the Rose Cottage one better, plus its a bit bigger and cheaper. Do you think the Ferplast one is better quality though? The PAH one has some reviews where the roof has leaked, floor has bowed, etc - though I would get a hutch hugger for it so that should help protect it. The bottom floor did seem like cheap, thin plywood but I'm sure that could be replaced easily if needed.

Any thoughts on either of them? Thanks.

hey there, I am sure the rose cottage is reduced in store to £99 atm:) I saw the other one instore somewhere before but it seemed quite a climb for guinea and more for rabbits IMO:))

I have a single and am working on hubby letting me have a 2 storey but not working! I have the guinea pig manor and have had no problems with bowing or rain getting in HTH

It was £169 in my local PAH today. I did wonder about the ramp, if it was too steep or not. Would putting a brick under it help do you think? It would lessen the steepness and then I could put a block of wood or something similar in to make a step up to the brick and ramp?

The pets at home one is a much better size and because the bottom is enclosed your pigs will get much more use out of it in poor weather. Some people have bought some great hutches from ebay sellers so you might get some other suggestions later on. :)

Thanks, both of you. Am leaning towards the PAH one. If anyone has this model and can comment on the ramp suitability I'd be grateful. Also would appreciate any other recommendations. Thanks.

It's the Pets at Home Summer Lodge which is on offer. It's reduced down to £99 at our store too, I ws looking at it earlier tonight ;)

I think it's about the same size as the Rose Cottage (and £70 cheaper)

I have a very similar hutch to these two and my lot don't have any problems with the ramp :)

lol they both looked the same! sorry:x

To be honest, I think they are :)) I think they may have replaced the Summer Lodge with the Rose Cottage maybe? (or the other way round)

Either way, that offer is a right bargain!

ah that would make sense! My guinea pig cottage is now guinea pig manor:)) taken me ages to work that out when searching for a hutch cover?/ lol

Thanks, will get the PAH one. I can't find the Summer Lodge on their wesbite though and didn't see one in the store either so I'm guessing they've sold out near me which is a shame.

Aw, that's a shame :(

Depending on how fast you need it, I got my hutch from here. http://www.rabbithutchwarehouse.co.uk/hutches.php

We have the double Grand Villa Deluxe, which has pretty much the same dimensions as the Rose Cottage (about half way down the page). I'm really pleased with the build quality and it's a little cheaper than the Pets at home one :)

Piggles = The rabbit warehouse one looks nice but for an extra £10 the PAH one has a plastic liner and a pull out cleaning floor bit which I thought may be useful. Current hutch has a wooden floor and the water bottle leaks and the the floor has started to swell under the bottle as its wet all the time. So the plastic bit I thought would stop this.

Rosierum - I'm in Lincoln.

I have the summer lodge and it is pretty similar to the Rose cottage. The summer lodge is better quality than the plywood ones. I have put carpet on the ladder and one guinea pig runs up and down it, but the other one still seems clueless!

In terms of it being waterproof you might want to put plastic screw covers on the screws on the roof as I think rain might be able to get in, but ours is in a shed so don't know.
