I'm goign to get a new piggie, its been 4 years since my last one and I'm tryign to decide what sex to get, last few have all been male but I'm not shure about the tempraments of females . Or if i should get more than one, I'm scared they will fight if 2 females or what 2 males woudl be liek .. so confuesd andy advice?

I've only ever had females (have just recently got my first male) and I've never had problems with them. Females can go with a male if he is neutered as well. I've never had boys together, so don't really know much about their behaviour. Pigs prefer to be in company too so at least 2 would be best.
There are posts on the forum about sow and boar behaviour that might be quite helpful.

Why don't you have a look at the piggies rehoming section and see if any there catch your eye

I have two girls who get on great with each other, I've no experience of keeping two boys together but many people do.

Where abouts are you? Then we could point you in the direction of a reputable rescue who could tell you which pairings they have available.

I have boar pairs, female groups and a herd of sows with a neautered boar to keep them all in line. If you are new to piggies or have been out of ownership for a while then maybe go for an establised pair of sows or older boars.

I would recommend that you contacted a reputable rescue in your area and visited - you will know which ones are for you when you see and handle them.

Each pairing has their own charm; however, you may profit from going for an adult and stable pair of any gender instead of skittish and often unhandled youngsters. They will also be more appreciative of a good and loving home!

i live in tayside in scotland, apparently not many recuse arund her that dont have old gunies . but i have checked out hte pets at home store, i went in and asked where the piggies are from and apparently they are all donated from people who havea had litters but couldnt lookafter them. strange but i guess that way i get a cute piggy and it get a nice cozy home lol. still unsure if i want to get 2 or one, iv had only 1 in past at a tiem and my last 1 was so content with me that if i put him outside without a run hes just sunbath lol had no fear or wnat to run
