as above, also what do people think about wilkinsons and there pet products? also what pet products would you avoid at all costs? my local one does two different types of bagged hay, one is timothy, the other is meadow. which one is best for piggies?

sorry for all the questions...:red

forgot to add, this is just temp, I'm not gonna shop with wilkinsons regurarly this is just a one off, will post a thread about something exciting(well to me it is anyway) at a later date...*trys not to looks suspicous*

I get all my Chubes from Wilkos, that's the cheapest place I've found them £1.59 . Mine get Dandelion & green oat which I add into their pellets etc & I think they do hay cakes as well, but haven't tried them.

As for the "treat" stuff, mine don't get those as I don't like giving them anything with sugar etc in, they get a blueberry or grape as a treat instead :))

The chubes and the Alfala rings. They love the alfala rings the only thing with them is they're held together with string so its not something you can leave them with unsupervised. Or you can just untie it and stick it in hay rack. They're quite pricey for what you get as well, mine got one for christmas as a special treat.

i really like their range, I get their chubes from there because as mentioned, 1they're only £1.50 and they last for ages too. I've had the dandilion and oat mix, they also do some fennel sticks which are good and oat cake type things. Oh and the williow balls are good value, £3.50 for 3 :)

I have just visited Wilkos for the first time today! I stocked up on an alfalfa ring, oat and dandelion mix, chubes and willow balls - I was impressed with the range and prices. They had some dodgy looking treats too which I avoided! Clean out day tomorrow, so the piggies are in for a treat;)

I get my hay from wilkinsons, started on the meadow hay which the piggies love and then brought them some timothy hay when wilko's started doing that but my piggies turned there noses up at it! I brought the wooden garlands but only Buddy seems to show an interest in his. He also has one of the balls with a bell in which he plays with quite a bit. I have had a few chubes from there too.

I use Wilko's a lot as my offices are above one of their stores so its convenient for me and I prefer to buy my pet products from somewhere that doesn't sell animals

Thanks everybody!

Are there any actual treats that Wilkos sell that can be fed very occasionally?
Laura from piggiepigpigs on YouTube says that her Guinea Pigs don't usually like Pet Shop treats, but they loved Wilkinsons apple, berry and banana cubes or something like that...

The garlands are very pretty, I have a blue, pink and purple flower one in the cage with my 3 girls and 1 male, and then buddy has an american football and "soccer" one hehe. I've not actually tried any of the treats from wilkinsons yet but they do seem to have a good range and also stock some of the medicines now too. I must admit my water bottles and food bowls are from there also

We buy the heart shape strawberry and seeds for the boys and they love that, it disappears in days! The hay cakes are a hit too

A Wilkinsons JUST opened where I live and I completely raided them :)) Got some lovely-looking hay (much nicer than what I usually get), locust bean treats, some sort of fruity biscuit treat and a couple of jingly toys. I was very impressed with their prices and now I no longer need to go to P@H! Very happy and very happy fluffies as well :))

Do piggies eat locust bean treats? I only ever heard of hamsters eating them.
I didn't see them in my local Wilkos btw-will have to go and have a better look next time!

I bought a couple of chubes to try the piggies with as they like the hay tunnels they had for Christmas :)) I pop their cosy sacs over one end and they love snuggling in them. Hilarious when they come out for breakfast as they back out and being long haired, have real bed hair rolleyes

My piggies go mad for the alfalfa rings and the dandelion mix!
Will look at the tubes as we are out of them currently.

i get my hay from there as it seems better meadow hay than p@h .....good price but quite a challenge hawling it back from town on the bus....as for some reason the check out staff never quite have a bag big enough for the bales!?/
I also get the tubes and have also brought wild bird food from the store too x

My Honey loves the carrot crunchies and blocks of seeds with carrot (cant remember what they are called).... never tried the hay. But yes prices are excellent!

My piggies munched straight through their meadow hay from wilkos, but they go mad for burgess timothy hay with birch bark so I have just bought wilkos timothy hay to see if its good enough for them as its much cheaper , I also bought the dandelion and green oat based on the advice here , I also get baephar spot on from wilkos - better to have some in just in case of suspected mites or more scratching than normal , I get mr johnsons everyday advance piggy food from there too (but burgess excel works out cheaper so I just got that for now)

Just a note to anyone the carrot treat blocks and apple blocks (with maize and stuff) are currently on 3 for £1.25 saving 25p. The meadow hay has been reduced to £2 for 2 kilo, the sawdust is on multibuy offer and the wilko's guinea pig food is currently reduced (still cheaper to buy the wagg crunch from there though)

Thanks Lady Kelly!

I wish I earned commission hearing how many people have brought products from there... maybe I wouldn't need to work lol

my local wilkos doesn't seem to sell oat and dandelion hay :(
are hay cakes good?
what about alfalfa rings? are they okay for adult guineas?

I like Wilkinsons. Currently my piggies are on a Wagg food but my Fancy Rats have the rabbit food from Wilko's and we've bought hay and many other pet things from there before including stuff for the dogs.
