Hi I'm looking to start making my own chew toys for my piggies having already mastered my own snuggle sacks and tunnels :D, i've collected various items such as finger traps, lolly sticks, pet safe paint etc but id really like to buy some wooden shapes to paint and look pretty, ive found some made of birch ply and know birch is on the safe list but ply isnt so I'm confused. Is this safe or should I look for something else. If something else then what? Sorry for so many questions just dont want to make a costly mistake.
Thanks from me Jingle Bells, Bear, Gus, Elmo, Fuzz, Hoggle and Biscuit.:P

I would be really careful with wooden things like lolly sticks as they can splinter & cause mouth injuries & broken teeth. Ply isn't safe to use as they layers are bound with formaldehyde which would be highly toxic. Animal paint may be safe for cats & dogs but may not be safe for piggies. Guinea pigs need lots of hay eating every day to keep their front & back teeth worn down as they don't really gnaw like rats & other rodents. Organic/ pesticide free small apple twigs are probably the safest thing :)

Thanks for your advice, I assumed lolly sticks and soy paint was safe as they are often seen on hauls on utube from well established companies. Never mind, I'll have to have a go at weaving willow to make toys,
