Adult Guinea Pig
I took two of my girls Amelia and Matilda to the Wheek and Squeak rescue on Monday for a date with a lovely neutered boy called Ash.
There had been an open day in the summer to raise money to get some boys neutered and I said to Anna I was thinking about a boy to join my girls as I'd lost Hector back in April. I had a cuddle with a few of the boys up for the snip, all who were lovely and I'd of happily adopted. It wasn't until the end of the event that I met Ash. I was bring Amelia home that day so was the last one to leave and was saying hi to the piggies I hadn't already seen when a little pig who'd been behind the tombola stand all day came out chattering away after some attention. I only saw a little black face with a white smudge on his nose but the cheeky little pig made a big impression on me.
Ash unfortunately had to wait a few months before he could meet my girls. Once he'd been neutered and was ready to meet them both Matilda and Piglet became unwell. Piglet with her arthritis and bloat problems and Matilda with her teeth. Piglet became very fragile and lost a lot of weight so our vet and I agreed that introductions should wait as she wouldn't cope with any chasing round and mounting. Sadly Piglet passed away and the two remaining girls Amelia and Matilda became a bit squabbly without her.
I am so please that Ash has brought them back together again. The intros at the rescue went really well. After an hour together with just a pile of hay we decided to introduce a wooden tunnel to see what would happen. They all squeezed in together and went to sleep! They were so cute together, a perfect match.
Since Ash has come home it's been like he's always been here. He fitted in perfectly and is really confident.
He did a loop of his new home, had a look around then did another loop and started rearranging the furniture.
He looks after his girls really well and the neighbour Penny clearly likes him as well. They had a little snog through the bars and she went off popcorning. She did get in trouble for cheating on her husboar Gerry he decided to mount her in every direction possible for the next half an hour including her face. I think she's learnt her lesson now! Gerry and Ash have their regular boarly chats over the fence with a pint of hay.
So here he is
