Yesterday I noticed that fur under my piggy’s left eye looked wet but when I checked a few hours later everything looked okay, today I just saw she had some white discharge on upper and lower eyelid. So I guess yesterday it was clear discharge. Should I take her to the vet asap or is it not that serious? I gave my pigs lots of grass these past few days (rinsed it and dried a bit in the sun), and a few radish leafs, idk if it has something to do with it 😔

Milky white is normal cleaning fluid. Sometimes they just don’t wipe it all away.

Clear watery fluid is a sign of potential irritation or injury and you should always see a vet promptly for that. It’s a sign that an injury (often haypoke) has just occurred but it has not yet ulcerated. Any eye injury is considered urgent and should be seen within 24 hours. Once the eye starts to cloud over or has started to ulcerate.

Hi and welcome

Is today's discharge milky white or is slightly greyish/blueish and gunky? The first is spilled over normal eye cleaning fluid (guinea pigs don't clean their eyes by blinking).
The second is ulceration from an infection (either from something stuck under a lid that is scratching the surface or an eye poke that has breached the surface of the eye). Clear tear fluid is there to an irritatant out of the eye. It dries into a transparent crust.

If you have any concerns about a potential eye injury please see a vet promptly; eye injuries should be seen idelly within 24 hours of you noticing since they deteriorate quickly. Your vet has a special dye that shows up the damaged area under UV light. Diagnosis, treatment and medication for eye injuries is the same as for cats and dogs, so any general vet will do.

It was white and a lot of it I guess, I have three pigs and I've never seen any of them having that much discharge so it scared me. I'll observe her closely and if that clear discharge appears again I'm taking her to the vet, thank you

The tear duct may have been blocked so all the cleaning fluid has run out of the eye instead of being reabsorbed for further use.
