One of my guinea pigs nose has gotten white and crusty (like when you get a scab) and it's worrying me. He is acting normal and his brother shows no signs of any problem. Is it something health related or could the cage have caused iT? I also have attached a picture of his nose I hope that helps.

That looks like it could be a fungal infection. I'd recommend a trip to the vets to get the right medication, also take the other piggy if he has a cage mate as it always helps to treat both even if one is not showing symptoms... yet.

I agree it looks like fungal, possibly Ringworm, so a vet visit is needed. As his friend has already been exposed to the spores ask the vet for enough medication to treat both of them if needed (as Squeakz has said). Treatment varies from vet to vet but the oral medication Itrafungol is the easiest and in my opinion the most effective. There are also Imaverol dips, and some vets prescribe Surolan which is an ointment. Surolan does work but does not treat the whole pig like Itrafungol does.

Here is our Ringworm guide which covers the hygiene precautions you need to take. Ringworm: Hygiene And Pictures

I agree, it looks very much like the beginning of a fungal infection, like ringworm - especially if you have only recently bought your piggy.

Please be very careful when handling. Ringworm is the most transmissive issue that can affect all mammals, including humans. Take the time to read the link that @helen105281 has given you. The tips in there have been learned the hard way and they work! Investing in a good antifungal disinfectant really pays off!

Please see a vet. If the infection has come up within 2 weeks of you acquiring guinea pigs from a pet shop, you can reclaim the treatment cost by presenting the vet bill together with the sales receipt as exposure and infection have happened at the shop. You always need to treat all guinea pigs living together to prevent the companion from catching ringworm, too. Advice on that is also in our ringworm guide.
