Just looked at Teddy and there's a white fluid coming out of her vagina. I'm panicking and I don't know what this is, any advice?

So you don't think it is fluid? any sign of a UTI? does she tend to sit in one place for a long time?

Sorry, I meant I was wondering if it was urine scald as I remember seeing something about how it can signal a piggy could have it if there was white fluid. I don't know the actual symptoms of a UTI, so I'll check that now. And how long would you consider her sitting in one place for a long time?

I have not heard of that for urine scald but doesn't mean it's not right. UTI symptoms are squeaky peeing or pooing, blood in the urine and smelly urine. I would say not really moving about much at all.

Thank you. I haven't noticed her doing anything like that, except possible the moving but she moves at least every twenty minutes if she's not sleeping. I had her out yesterday for a bum bath, and when I was drying her, she weed and did poos fine. I'll keep an eye on her today for any symptoms you've mentioned. She should be going to the vets tomorrow if I can hopefully get an appointment.

Also, it's back again, a tiny tiny bit more stringy than the other one but there's not as much now.

Edit; she just weed and it got all over her back legs etc. I am 99% sure it's urine scold because of the puppy pads I put under the houses. I'm going to stop doing it now though as I did realise this.

Sows can excrete a gloopy/gelatinous substance, usually as a baffling one-off. It you see more or it happens again, I would see a vet and have her uterus checked.

Urine scald is a chemical burn to the skin from sitting in urine regularly; if chronic, it results in hair loss and sore skin in the affected area. Urine scald is not uncommon in elderly arthritic piggies that are not moving around much and are no longer agile enough to lick themselves clean. this is clearly not the case here.

Ok. I do have her in for an appointment at the Beccles (?) road vet for nine am tomorrow, but I don't feel they're specialised in piggies at all so I'm probably going to cancel to avoid misdiagnoses and try and make an appointment at Taverham vets, but it might not be until two days.

I feel really guilty with tossing around appointments, but this upcoming Wednesday, Teddy's going to Taverham with me and my mum.

The dog's coming as well for an appointment. Any tips on keeping it sane and not tense in the car? Zeb's fine with the piggies (she loves licking them, especially Ginny unfortunately :))) but I can't imagine Teddy being so comfortable alone with a dog near her. Ginny and Minja have no fear of Zeb, and will literally climb over her, but Teddy's skittish.

No advice but good luck for the journey XD
