white patches in hutch

Hi all,

When cleaning out the pigs i have noticed that there is alot of these white patches, are they anything to be concerned about?

They may be the dried calcium that comes out in their urine. I would consider lining the sides so the wood doesn’t get ruined. Did you line the base as well?
 
It just looks like some calcium deposits from urine, so nothing be concerned about. You could try putting a corner hay tray there though to make cleaning easier.

They are moving to their new home soon and I'm going to line the sides with correx to protect the wood :)
