I woke up this morning and in my guinea pig cage were circles on white powder/grainy wee? Is this normal? I looked it up on the internet and it said that it could be due to high levels of calcium in the diet. Any tips on what I can feed him and when this kind of wee is dangerous?

Yes, kale is one of those high calcium foods which shouldnt be fed daily, along with spinach and several others. There is a list in the feeding section on this site of foods and their calcium levels along with other helpful advice on how to avoid high calcium levels such as making sure they get filtered water if you live in a hard water area.
Somebody with experience of bladder issues will be able to help you with what steps you should take now.

Hello welcome to the forum

Powdery deposits are normal and is the calcium which all piggies will excrete. As long as it isnt gritty i would expect to see that from time to time

Guinea lynx has info on wee here Guinea Lynx :: What's Normal?

You can try and reduce calcium in their diet by not feeding cabbage/kale/parsley on a daily basis..

What do you feed your piggy?

A lot of kale

I find white powder in every pig ive hads urine. No matter how little calcium is in the diet. Its only a concern if its gritty or paste like. If its like dust dont worry. ( and just to note i filter their water)

yea it does actually. Sorry i didnt see the pics. Start filtering water and only give kale or spinach like once or twice a week. Red and green bell peppers are better for vit c

Cant tell from a photo... Rub it between your fingers.

I would advise not feeding kale/cabbage/spring greens/parsley daily

Feed it once a week twice max....

We feed ours this roughly

Morning:
Cucumber -1.5 cm x 2cm chunks (twice)
Celery - 1 stick between 3 chopped up small
1/6th of Red/Green/Yellow Bell Pepper (de-seeded)

Evening:
Cucumber 1.5 cm x 2cm chunks (twice)
Two Little Gem Lettuce leaves or 10 sprigs Coriander. Twice a week we will swap in cabbage or parsley

We also add in to the above diet carrot, sweet potato, celery leaves and a few other things occasionally

But by no means am I any kind of expert on diet , some folks on the forum are really clued up... so pick up advise where you can.
