white spots on guinea pigs ear?

I don't know what it is with posting on this forum optimistically and finding that the infection has gotten worse the next moment but it happens way too often lol.
I can see the start of the infection around Frodo's eyes. Hasn't started yet, but I can feel it coming.
Could I try the suds around the eyes as well or could that cause irritation?

How do guinea pigs deal with ringworm in the wild? Do they just die of it? It seems almost impossible to get rid of without the right products :hb::hb::hb:

I think I'm going to go buy Nizoral and wash the two with that instead. Maybe a stronger shampoo would be more effective :soz:

HUGS

Nizoral shampoo is effective against ringworm. I have tried it myself in the years before oral medication became used.

Try to carefully apply the shampoo carefully with a cotton bud around the eyes and ears; unfortunately they are the areas often affected by ringworm but because they are so sensitive, they are hard to treat. The eyes will swell temporarily if you have got too much shampoo too closely to them. Keep in mind that any new outbreaks stem from what has been going on 10-14 days ago and do not reflect your efforts in the meantime. If you get at the area promptly, it will hopefully suppress a full blown new outbreak.

Ringworm can be very exasperating; I have been where you are now 9 years ago with 16 piggies and with oral treatment coming in only at the very end of that outbreak. I can also promise you that you will get on top of it. Just keep at it.

It is not a life-threatening illness, the problem lies in the highly contagious ubiquitious and long lived spores, which can turn it into such a long running saga. There is nothing to you are doing wrong; you are doing your best with what you have available.
