I know that guinea pigs can have some calcium in their urine, but I have never seen it like this. Is this ok? BDE30C17-4197-426F-BF8A-E9841490D25A.webp

Hi!

Yes, this is fine. I think that it looks like this because it hasn't soaked into the fleece and just dried on top. If it is powdery then it is normal but if it feels gritty then you should take the Guinea pig to the vet to get it checked for bladder stones. But otherwise his is normal because the only way piggies can excrete excess calcium in their diet is in their wee.

The usual, hay (bluegrass and Timothy), pellets and veggies. I have 3 groups of piggies and they all get the same stuff to eat and there is only white stuff in one of the cages. I haven’t been feeding them anything new either

That’s weird then!. Maybe some are more prone to it than others. If they’re still eating and not complaining while toileting then it’s probably ok, as said above.

I have seen calcium pee with my pigs alot, but never rocks like this🤔. Strange

I just put a glove on and picked some up, it turned into powder when I squeezed it. I’ll be cleaning their cage tonight so I guess I’ll see if it happens again. I haven’t heard any squeaks or painful sounds coming from them
