Oh Ron, that made me laugh!
I fostered 3 young boars who came from the auction for Vikki - cute little pigs, until they were old enough / large enough to be homed (they were TINY!). These have become a pair and the 3rd was then bonded with another baby boar at Vikki's, and have either got homes or been reserved - which is great! It was hard to let them go but when they came in I knew it was only temporarily and what with all my other pigs and recent babies, it was easier because I knew I would need the space shortly! I'm just pleased that they've found homes.
Moose, my other foster pig from Vikki - to be honest, he's old and gets impacted and seems to have a bit of an issue with his sight, and no-one had shown any interest in him, so if no-one wanted him he would have lived out his days here quite happily. But then someone came along with experience of older boars, and a lovely home - so it is in Moose's best interests and although I will definitely miss him, it would be selfish to keep him here when such a lovely home awaits. But I do admit to a tear or two! He's such a super boy.
I think it depends how many pigs of your own you've got - I've already got a lot and am aware how much attention they all need, and am trying not to take on more than I can cope with. If I only had one or two of my own, all of the above pigs would have been in danger of becoming permanent residents because you can't help but get attached to the little fellas!
