I've phoned up about getting my boy neutered, but would love to know how many people on here have used them? Preferably for some kind of op? Apparently the vet that does pigs is Glenn Hodgson

Flintstones on here uses Glenn and has done often. I know she rates him highly :)

I'm in Glasgow i use The Avenues Veteinary Centre in Rutherglen they are really good with my lot and their prices are excellent and affordable.

I spoke with Glenn on the phone but I didn't feel put at ease at all. Probably just me being a numpty but don't want anything happening to my boy. Spoke with a senior vet at Glenbrae vets in Glasgow and they seemed to know what they were talking about. Talked me through the things they do to keep everything as safe as possible for the small furries and they apparently deal with a lot of buns, pigs, rats etc. We have a free new client check up next week so hopefully I will get the same very caring vibe off them then. £65 for a neuter is fairly standard isn't it? Including pre op check, anaesthetic etc.

Hi Shrap,

I can honestly say Glenn is the best vet I've ever used, he's open to new idea's and has brought a lot of my pig's back from deaths door. He's one in a million, he really cares about our little guinea's. Even in a consult he is very through and I know he see's a lot of piggies, he's done countless Xray's,Blood's and dental's for me. I had a piggy undergo very complex surgery, Glenn is a fabulous surgeon I've no doubt about that. The surgery he performed on my P was absolutely amazing many vet's wouldn't have even attempted the surgery but Glenn did and saved my P's life. P had a stone in his uretre, if left it would have caused him to die - P was a very elderly piggy 5+.

Fred had his front incisor removed and Jaw abscess drained earlier on this year - recovered brilliantly.

I would never hesitate when asking Glenn to perform an op in any of my pig's!

i worked as a student nurse and had many of my piggies treated by glen and douglas, they are both great and i had one piggie live an extra 2 years when he sorted an abscess problem he had, my other piggie had a bladder stone and unfortunately he did not survive, but he was 9 yrs. i recommend apex to you.
