Just a thought: People might prefer if you say, like, Laura W. instead?

Revealing people's names is a bit, uh. Unsafe and could really offend someone. ?

What are you on about , why would it offend her? do you know how many Lauras are on the forum?

Yeah but not many Laura Wylie ? and i wouldnt like my second name up on a forum either :-\

I wouldnt mind my surname being used especially if i'd send a chq i'd be more chessed off if I didnt receive what i'd paid for :P

Behind you 100% you have to be carefull on the internet If someone asked for me on an open forum I would be livid.
It could of been done differently you could of asked for the Laura to pm you that sent you a cheque on whatever day it was.

I'm really quite confused by all this fuss about surnames on the forum ... what harm could it do if people knew a name? they wouldn't know where you live, what you look like, or anything else about you. Basically I just think people are being a bit oversensitive. :smitten:

people can find put aboput anyone as so far on this forum i have posted a picture of myself, my first name, what area I'm in and photos of my back garden etc and it doesnt take a genius to work things out if they really wanted to come and pay you a visit for one reason or another :-\ ive heard a story i think on this forum about a police and a young girl finding about all her details that someone posted on here a while back about your private info

well I'm not discussing on this topic anymore as its all sorted and fine :)
