Who was your first piggy and why you got them.....

I was wondering, as Tilly Fluff was my first ever piggy and she was from my cousin. They had a litter of 3 and needed to find homes for them and my cousin asked me and hubby as he knew our rabbit had died a few months before so we had a spare cage. I went to collect a piggy or 2 (I was hoping) but Tilly was the only sow and I fell for her big time so I went away with her and got 2 more to keep her company :) whats your story?
 
Misty. I got him one day when I was comming home from hospital. I wanted a sow but I fell in love with him straight away. He was about 4/5 months old in the pet shop. And that's when the piggie addiction started :D
 
bob and munchie are my first piggies. i decided i wanted a pet now i live away from home, as ive never been allowed a pet before as my mum was allergic, so did some reading up on rabbits, hamsters and piggys. i went to P@H to look (not buy) at the animals, and although the hammys were cute, i just loved the personalities of the piggies, and their little squeaks, and how cute they were. i mentioned to my mum i wanted a pet, probably a piggy or 2, and she said the childminder of my sisters had loads of piggies, adult and baby, and she would mention it to her. the woman offered me two piggies and said i could come and choose two!
next thing i know 4 weeks later I'm off to pick up my 2 gorgeous boy piggies from her :smitten: she was sad when they left but i update her on their progress often, and when i go home for xmas, she will most likely visiting them :)
 
Hiya,

My first pig was Sunshine he is an Aby and an orangey colour. He is now 5 months old. He was housed in a petshop with a bunny and I felt so sad for him. I just had to have him. It's one of those situations where you just fall for something and must have it! So we got him and didn't have a cage! He was small so went to Wilko's and got a very small cage for him, it was very temporary until we got our hutch a couple of days later and now he lives in a 5x2 lavander lodge with his buddy Twinkle until the weekend when they will be going in the shed in a C&C.

I am gonna nam a piggy aftr hr whn i fin a txl/mrino ;D
Molly was an all black smooth hair piggy an i got hr whn i was about 6 i think but cant rmmbr whr i got hr from but kpt hr in my garag
I thn mov to my auntis with my a an hr hutch wnt in th ining room
I hanl hr somtims but onc i got hr out for th last tim i accintly ropp hr an sh scram :-\ I plac hr back in hr hutch but sh latr i :'( I was crying my ys out so my a took m to gt som nw trainrs an a hammy :)

I thn only about 1 yar ago or so ag 16 start off with 3 piggys i got givn
all wr girls i was tol by th vts but 1 ha 1 baby ::) I thought thy wr all stil girls obviously but just thought that whr i got thm from on of th othrs ma hr prgnant an whn i got hr sh was alray inpig - :o Wll so i thought - 2 months wnt an out popp 2 babys :-\ i knw sh was gtting fat so sparat hr bfor sh gav birth as i flt kicking so knw for a fact on of MINE was a boar - BTH AE BAS as i xamin an knw bttr than th vts ;D

Wll hr 1st bub i an hr 2n 2 wr boars an i kpt - still hav mum an bubs now ! :laugh:

I thn got givn 3 bub boars whos mum i so i look aftr thm an kpt 1 myslf an gav 2 to a vt who want 1 :D

wow thats loads .Anyways started off with casper and scruffy who are now about five months old who are both boars then at the weekend went and got two sows off the preloved site who where called thelma and louise but we are changing their names just seeing wehat thier personalities are like will post piccies when hubby is here to help as cant get them to post on the forums the girls are five months as well.

Well my sister had a guinea pig. And then i had the rabbit that lived with her. My sister had a dutch called Ginger. :smitten:
Then when my bun died we got a guinea pig - Spice who i still have from a specialist piggy shop. and i got Honey from P@H in March for my birthday
 
i got my first piggy 5 years ago from a petshop id been nagging for one for ages and without my mum knowing my dad let me get one hehe he was a Ginger Aby pig called 'knuckles' horrible name i know! but my sis chose it she promised to keep quiet about me having a guinea Pig if she chose the name but my mum found out anyway lol. sadly when i was moving bedrooms my stoopid dad balanced knuckles cage on top of a big pile andthe cage slid off and crashed to the floor (with knuckles in it) we took him to the vets and his jaw was out of place he died the next day :'( he was only about 6 months old as well. but he was by far the best piggy i ever had.
 
I really wanted a dog but it wasnt practical for my family as we're all very busy so I decided piggies would be more practical
My first pair were from a pet shop but sadly one died 2 days later(heart attack) so we got little Trixy to keep milly company :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

My first piggy was Lily.

I didnt really want guinea pigs, I kept rabbits at the time. Anyway, I moved house and my new neighbour had her in the basement. She had been kept with a rabbit and when the rabbit died they just continued keeping her alone. She was in the cage with a bowl of water and a little bit of dry food, no pet bedding whatsoever, no house, no hay, nothing.

I obviously showed an interest (pitied her the poor thing) and they were ever so eager to offer her to me. So I took her on, because I thought "well I dont know anything about piggies but I still think shell have it better with me..."

Because I was moving to the UK shortly after she stayed alone for a few more months, but once I had settled in I got her a companion, Marvin :)

I had a few piggies when I was little, Ben, Ben 2 (who was a girl) and Grandma (Ben 2's grandma). But recently our first piggy was Tiger, we got him as company for George the bunny until we did more reading up and discovered this was a bad idea, so Tiger is indoors now next to his pal Jeremy.

Here he is (long haired) wondering where Jeremy has got to!

My first was Jessie i had wanted piggies for a while so i got her for my birthday, best gift i ever had :smitten: She started off the piggie addiction, i got petal as a friend for her after jessies mites had cleared up and i got Herione cos i wanted a REW for months and she's lovely. I'd easily get more but i'm not allowed but i love my 3 :smitten:
 
My first pigs were Ginger and Crunch. I got married in 2001, and after the stress of the wedding etc, we started thinking about animals (already had mice), and thought about rabbits. We picked up some leaflets in PAH (remarkably useful!), which persuaded us that piggies would probably be more suitable. Then one week later we bought a cage and some piggies. Here they are (both no longer with us :'( )

I would do things so differently now - we sort of learned as we went with the pigs, and made some expensive mistakes (eg buying a cage that was too small, so then having to upgrade it etc). I didn't even know there were such things as animal forums, although I did buy a few books, so I didn't do anything really daft.
 
My two were a pair of Sows called Melia and Myma!

I really like Myma, but i thought it was nicer to get a pair, Melia was a Lilac and Myma was a slate. They were Sisters and shelties.

Melia was the Bossy one! Shortly after i decided to get Lillie she was a white Merino with Cream markings :smitten: (so gutted when she passed!) She was like alittle sheep.

Then i decided i wanted to have some Boars so i brought Oscar aka Ozxzxy (sheltie) and i thought i would get George too. George was alittle younger and had to stay with the breeder alittle longer but when i went back to get Georgie(sheltie) the breeder offered me his brother Winston(Texel) because he was the runt and no one really wanted him! He was jet black :smitten:

Then came Rodney, Dave,Lulu,Audrey,Aurora,Colin,Chaz(aka Charles!) To name just a few!
 
Well Rosie and MaryJane are our very first. I am so new to this. I saw an ad for them and since my son wanted a guinea pig for his birthday, I decided to adopt them. Their previous mummy decided that she wasn't going to separate them and I totally agreed because they are sisters. So far I am falling in love with them more and more eachday.
 
My sister already had 2 but wouldnt let me near them but My first 2 where amber and cloe.they where from a school friend and i was only about 6.
It was terrible because when they where ready to leave mum I was going on holiday so i had to wait untill i get back before i could get them :(

I dont remember it but My family where always telling me thats all i went on about when we where away and every night i counted the nights left before i could go home and get them ::)
we have had piggys in the family ever since
 
My very first pigs where toot and winky who passed away last year at the age of 6 they where lovely pigs, and then i have Branstone who is 4 he was my 3rd pig

Kind of grown from there
 
Gilbert is my first and only Piggy. i had lost my Hamster shout (R.I.P sweetie) and was considering a Piggy as my next pet. As i work in a pet shop oi spent a couple of days observing the Piggies and noticed that all the Boars seemed to be picking on one little boy, so it was decided he would come home with me. He was very very nervous for a while but is now completely settled with me. He is more like a Puppy and is hardly ever in his cage when i am at home, he comes out with me round the house and sleeps on my lap. I love him to bits and if i didn't still live with my parents would definitely have more piggies but they have said no more :( what meanies :P

Anyway here is a pic of my baby boy.

My very first piggie was my beautiful boar Snoopy :smitten: he was a lovely aby I got him when I was 11years old.
 
My first piggies were jenny and jessie jenny was a red and jess was white and grey i have always had a rabbit and my daughter always had hamsters but the problem with hamsters is they sleep when you want to play with them so i got some books on different pets and decided the guinea pig was best i never looked back since jenny and jessie god bless died 3 years ago since then i have had 8 otheres and couldnt be without them :smitten: :smitten: Emma x
