I just checked an RSPCA website and it said that a guinea pig cage has to be 2ft high! Why does it need to be this tall? Guinea Pigs don't stand on their back legs like rabbits do and they can't jump up to 2ft....

lol just a wonder? Emma x

I'm thinking this is a general measurement as they say 2ft high for rabbits tho' each branch seems to have it's own specific requirements. It's best to discuss what they require in person, if you don't have what they want they will advise you when they homecheck :)

Maybe it's because they think if you have had guinea pigs in that cage you may get a rabbit in later life and it would live in that age...? But rabbits need at least a 6ft long hutch anyway. rolleyes lol

That could be their way of thinking tho' Bradford branch wanted 3ft high hutches for their bunnies :)

Hi Emma

That is my two boys' party tricks for when they are getting their veg they will stand on their hind legs they are sooo cute but when they do this their front paws almost disappear into their bodies :))

maybe to allow for ease of cleaning, lifting piggies, moving bits around etc

my boy, sonny, does this too sometimes, very cute!

Both Amy, Tiger and Tia stand on their hind legs :)) Amy climbs the bars when she hears food. Her feet stay grounded but she puts her front feet as high as they will reach :))

Also if george thinks you have food he will stand on his hind legs to beg :))
