i am in shock. i don't understand why people do these things. she will take along time to come round but i'm so glad you went that way home.

i wish you all the best of luck.

The thing that also worries me is what were these sick yobs going to do with the piggy if you hadn't have came along when you did :(

they look around after they dropped the back and went off after they saw Jon and I so I know the feeling, I'm so glad we weren't a few mins later!

That was a fantastic story of how you rescued that poor little girl. How anyone could be so cruel ill never know. Well done you. I'm so glad she is safe now and in a happy home x

Sometimes the human race defeats and disgusts me :( (Although these yobs aren't fit to be called humans)

Thank god you found this poor little girl and saved her from a terrible death.

God bless you both :)

Looking forward to pigtures.

Kira, how is Joanna this morning? Hoping she's calmed a little more and is still nibbling some hay! Fingers crossed her goodies arrive today too. x

omg i cannot believe i didnt see this thread before, its not often that i get this upset I'm still crying since reading it,what a horrible thing to happen to little Joanna,a guinea pig is such a humble trusting animal and i cannot understand how someone could take that away,a big hug to you as it must have been so hard to deal with that and a big pat on the back for jon as if he had never faced his fear little joanna would have been alone with no help,
I'm so glad she is now in safe hands and will be getting the wonderful life she deserves xxxxxx

I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. I feel so sick to my stomach. Bless you and your OH, and lots of healing vibes coming little Joannas way xx

Kira, how is Joanna this morning? Hoping she's calmed a little more and is still nibbling some hay! Fingers crossed her goodies arrive today too. x

She's still freaking out when we go near her cage ect but when she thinks we can't see she's munching on hay :) She also ate her lettuce last night =D I'll try adding another kind of lettuce tonight see how she deals with that :))

I haven't seen her drink yet, but I sprayed some water onto the lettuce before I gave that to her so I know she's getting fluid into her which is good

Big pat on the back mate for you both!

All i can say is that just when you think you've heard it all, the human race surprises you, in both bad AND good ways.

What goes around, comes around.

They'll get what they deserve.

Gentle squooshes for Joanne today.

Poor little piggy. It is so upsetting to think that anyone could ever do the things that we read about and even worse when we come across them our selves. I am so glad this little girlie has found someone to love her and look after her.

These morons who treat animals like this will not stop here, they are sick and should be locked away before they do any more damage.

I've just read this and I am also very very glad that you were there for that poor little piggie. The description you gave of her screaming just shocked me to the core, but I'm really glad to read that she's eating up. Poor little piggie, what a dreadful start in life. I wish you, your OH and little Joanna the very best in the months and years to come.

Darling i cant tell you why people are cruel, they just are.
Some of the site's i've seen have been unreal that is why we have the amount of cats we have but the things i've seen have scarred me for life.
We are better than the people that hurt animals.
They have no heart and soul.

May god bless you hun for all you are doing for that poor little girl.

I'm not at all shocked or suprised at this, saddened yes, and sickened but it's nothing that hasn't become "normal" these days. These sort of people do this kind of thing all the time and think nothing of it. What kind of world do we live in when children think it's OK to do this to a tiny innocent creature?

That little piggie may have had the worst start to life thinkable but someone was watching over her and sent you to find her. She will be a great little pig and so loving when she realises you are an angel who came to her rescue.

it is terribly sad and awful story, i wonder whether there is a person out there who is missing her or was she just given away? I am glad she is now in your safe hands and look forward to seeing a picture once she has settled down xox

It's just a thought but maybe the poor little girl is a bit sore so that makes her more likely to flee when you try to touch her. She may be bruised after her ordeal.

with love and patience, I'm sure you'll get er round to trusting humans again

Will keep up with the Reiki and see how she does, Kira. You are doing wonderful with her, I am sure she will learn to trust again in your care. xx

Oh, what a sweet picture - she is a Himalayan and by the look of her a young one too!

Hope she's feeling better today - as a breed they can be a little skittish as youngsters and tend to do the 'wall of death', but she will steady down gradually.

Best of luck with her - i love Himmi's.

Oh my Gosh, she is lovely, and is also a very lucky little girl that you were in the right place at the right time. She might not realise it yet but in time she will be a healthy happy friendly little piggie. Don't rush her and let her come round in her own time, it might take years instead of months but it will be worth it, if you always compare her to the day she was found you will see the improvement. I think you're doing a fantastic job and have had so much brilliant advice.

I don't know how people can be so cruel, but it's an unfortunate part of the society we live in, there would be no need for rescues if people behaved responsibly with animals, but if they can't even be civil to each other what hope do animals have?

Best of luck with Joanna.:rose:rose:rose
