hope this is not too upsetting and i have put it in the right place. But everyday i see a new post in rainbow bridge or a pregancy gone wrong. in this month i have lost 3 guineas. Biscuits unborn pup, and fluffly's gawgus pair of babies.
Maybe 2007 isn't going to be the best year for me. It feel's unlucky, and I'm scared of losing more.
I dont think this is the year for guineas. Why are they so unlucky this year?  :-\ i dont no what's going on. Is it the weather or just their time?

thats totally whats worrying me too :'(

it seems every day we come on here someones lost a little one,its so heartbreaking

I wish I knew the answer to that one. I have lost 3 in the last week, 1 because of a huge tumour on her kidneys, 1 because of OD related problems and the other I just found dead :'( I hadnt had any piggy problems for months then everything at once. My second eldest piggy has been really unwell with a fungal throat infection, I thought I was going to loose him at one point but he seems to be recovering now. I just hope I dont loose anymore.

having lost dobbs I can feel sorry for anyone else who has lost a tresured pal, I guess when like me you have around 34 you do get some maybe born at same time when their time is just up, but over the years I have noticed I lose mine in spring and autumn and if mine make it over 2 then normally they go on until 4 to 6 why aged 2 is a sticky age no idea but its been happening over the years and I have mentioned this before as it puzzled me, maybe it is the weather or as there is so many of us with numerous pigs it seems more then say early last year when not so many members,
I can go months with no losses then lose 4 in one month, not nice is it? but I guess we have to realise its natures way, :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

I am fortunate and though I have had personal piggies and rescue piggies, I have never had any deaths or serious illnesses. I don't know why I'm so lucky, but I am. Hugs and kisses to everybody who's lost a loved one though :-* :smitten::-*

Last year I lost four animals, I was heartbroken. All for completely different reasons - one with toothproblems, one due to old age, one came from bad conditions and was already weak, and one died of pneumonia.

2006 was absolutely shite for me. I suppose it just happens - we are alot of members here, if you have 100 members and everyone loses one animal per year you would have a rainbow bridge entry every third day. I suppose it looks worse than it is.. we are just so many people posting here.
What really sucks is that it doesnt work out like that - its a handful of members losing loads of piggies, and others none :(

ive noticed that too :( :'(

I think the handful of members losing pigs must like me have a high number of pigs, thats why it shows up as a certain few having losses,

I agree, its still so sad though

luckily I think we've just saved Bubbles in time with her URI,if not..then that wouldve been another

damn dusty hay >:( >:(

Yes good point maybe it is the hay, maybe there was something wrong with the harvest from last year may be the hay is the problem as allot of the big companies supply the whole country, or maybe i am just barking up the wrong tree, I have only lost my guineas to old age but i did have a very, very ill pig at Christmas he had a blocked gut, and i had just bedded him down on barn brought hay something i don't normally do
