Why Do I Bother?

ha ha Food bowl tippers! I love them!

Lol cute little piggie rascals. That used to happen every day here so I went on a epic search for a bowl that they couldn't tip over and EVENTUALLY found two of those kidney shaped ceramic bowls in the reptile section of the pet super store, they are brilliant and wont tip even when they stand on the edge and they are a perfect shape for the two of them to share one bowl (I don't know why I even bothered getting one each) and not big enough that they take up much room.

I use a ceramic bowl too, not that the little sods haven't tried to tip it or anything lol. They make enough of a mess as it is, I refuse to further encourage them haha. Beautiful piggies

I just make a couple of little piles of pellets now. Looking out for some pretty ceramic bowls for them.

Yep, ceramic in this house too. :) Still, it's a cute video....

Oh dear heheh Yes, I must agree, ceramic is the way forward, the only time it even gets close to being tipped is when someone (looking at you, Praline, you giant lump) gets a bit giddy on a zoomie and kicks it mid run!

Hahaha I thought Comet was the only one daft enough to do that lol.

Clearly it takes a certain type of pig! LOL I even moved it to the middle of the run and out of the way of his usual circuit, but no, he just started cutting across and still does it! Muppet!

have you seen these?
Snoozie's Cozies

the "Staybowl" advertised in the Guinea pig magazine ages ago- a father & daughter came up with the idea after getting fed up filling up & clearing up the upturned bowls.

My girls have small ceramic bowls that they just stand on the far edge to reach any food i may be approaching with.... wayyy up.... thats some more gone!
Orca even stands in the water bowl tipping it over or just generally trashing the joint! lol,

they are stocked in the UK but not by many suppliers - this was just the first link i found when googling Staybowl.x

I considered the Stay Bowl they look fab.

Ceramic & Beco bowls here, neither of those tip. I prefer the Beco bowls as they're 100% natural and eventually biodegradable :D

Not a lot of point in going to the trouble though as my lot jump in them and kick the nuggets out when they leave lol. And presumably do the mystery poos I find in the bowl, I don't remember seeing THOSE in the packet when I opened it...

Before I got my piggies I searched everywhere for ceramic bowls but couldn't find any. The only small bowls I could find where the ones I got (plastic). They have a flat "lip" out the bottom which seemed like it would prevent them getting tipped but it clearly doesn't.
I've now decided they can do without the bowl and just scoop the pellets directly onto the fleece instead LoL. They finish them in a few min anyway so it's not like they get dirty or anything and I figured since they were tipping them out anyway I'd just save them the trouble.

LOL! We have ceramic bowls which are harder to flip, but Hadley still manages sometimes if she gets up on the rim with both front feet. She's.... chubby. There's a lot of weight on those front feet!

I'm the only stockist of STAYbowls in the UK, and I use them for my nine pigs. So far all of the feedback I've received has been very positive, with customers not only very pleased that the bowls are no longer being tipped ( so they're saving money on less food wastage) but they are also able to feed the correct amount of food ( they were all - without exception - overfeeding their pigs!) The STAYbowls were sold out in the Snoozie's Cozies shop, but I've just had another delivery from the USA. They now come in four colours ( blue, lime green, fuschia pink and lilac) so I have many customers who have bought several different colours which they match to their accessories. If you'd like to order, you'll find them at www.snooziescozies.co.uk/shop
